Pooran is one of the most consistent batsmen in the league. He has scored 770 runs at an average of 51.33 runs. He has scored 3 half-centuries in his 6 innings against the Capitals, and we are backing him to play a good knock here.
5 of the last 8 ILT20 matches played at the Dubai International Stadium have seen 14 or more wickets fall. If the bowlers bowl a good line and length, they will be rewarded with wickets and since both teams have a strong bowling attack, we expect that trend to continue.
The Mumbai Emirates will look to avenge their loss in the season-opener when they face the Dubai Capitals for the second time in 3 days. The two teams will faceoff on Monday at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The two teams have faced each other in 4 matches. The Capitals have won thrice while the Emirates have won just one match.
This match can be watched live on the Zee Network and Zee5 app.
The incumbent champions didn’t get the start they would have hoped for. The team suffered a defeat against the Capitals on Sunday and will be eager to turn things around.
Skipper Nicholas Pooran will be the key player for the Emirates in this match. He has been in excellent form, especially in the shortest format, over the last year. He scored a brisk half-century on Saturday, albeit for a losing cause, and will hope to do the same in this match too.
Pooran will have the support of Tom Banton and Andre Fletcher in the middle order, while Kieron Pollard is the perfect finisher for the team. Kusal Perera and Muhammad Waseem will open the batting and will look to give the team a strong start.
Coming to the bowling, Fazalhaq Farooqi bowled a superb spell of 5 wickets for 16 runs, which are the best figures for any bowler in the ILT20. He will be joined by Alzarri Joseph and Zahoor Khan in the pace department while Akeal Hosein, Waqar Salamkheil, and Allah Ghaznafar are three spinners.
The Dubai Capitals held their nerve till the very last ball of their opening fixture and scored a well-deserved win over the Emirates. As they face the team yet again, the Capitals will hope to extract a similar outcome in this game as well.
The Capitals are led by Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikander Raza. Raza has plenty of experience playing in the shortest format. He is not only a dependable batsman in the middle order but also a quality spinner who can be effective on the dry pitch in Dubai.
Raza has a strong batting unit at his disposal that will be headlined by Shai Hope and Adam Rossington at the top of the order. Brandon McMullen, who comes in at number 3 scored a solid half-century in the previous match and will look to do the same in this match as well.
With the likes of Gulbadin Naib, Rovman Powell, and Dasun Shanaka coming in lower down the order, there is plenty of depth in the Capitals’ batting. The team has a strong seam attack made up of Olly Stone, Obed McCoy, and Farhan Khan while Zahir Khan will join Raza in the spin department.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.
The pitch in Dubai is flat and a bit on the dry side. The surface is a bit sluggish and the ball stops a bit after pitching. That said, it is still a good batting track and the team batting first will look to score at kea170-180 runs. Aiming the right areas will be the key for the bowlers. Since this is a day-night match, dew is likely to play a part in the second half.
The weather will remain clear with temperatures of around 22 degrees.
We saw a riveting encounter between the two teams on Saturday and judging by the form of both sides, we can expect a similar performance in this game as well. We are backing the Capitals to win here as they have a long batting line-up and some brilliant all-rounders.
Bet on the Dubai Capitals to win.
