India

The hosts put up yet another good performance on Saturday to gain a 2-0 lead over England in the 5-0 series. However, there were a few nervous moments for the team and a few areas where they would like to improve going ahead.

India has a very strong batting line-up and that was a big advantage for them in the previous match. Despite the openers falling cheaply, the hosts were able to chase down the target thanks to an excellent knock from Tilak Varma. He held on to one end of the crease and continued to score runs even as wickets continued to fall at the other end.

While Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma played well in the first T20, the others including Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya are yet to play a big knock. Washington Sundar, who has brought in to replace an injured Nitish Reddy played an important role in India’s win and will retain his place in the team.

Arshdeep Singh has been brilliant with the new ball and has kept things tight at one end. The spinners have been excellent as well, with Varun Chakravarthy leading the pack. He will be supported by Axar Patel and Ravi Bishnoi.

England

England will be pretty disappointed with the way they played in the first two games. They now face a must-win situation if they want to keep the series alive.

The batting from England has been very disappointing, to say the least. Barring skipper Jos Buttler, none of the batsmen have been able to make much of an impact. Buttler is the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 113 runs.

The opening pair of Phil Salt and Ben Duckett has struggled in both the matches and the team will expect a better start from them. Brydon Carse, who was playing for the first time in India, was impressive with both, the bat and the ball, and the team will expect a similar performance from him in this match.

He will be joined by Jamie Smith, Harry Brook, and Liam Livingstone in the middle order. The bowling from England hasn’t been up to the mark either. Jofra Archer, who is the team’s most experienced seamer, has picked only 3 wickets in 2 games.

Mark Wood and Jamie Overton have also been quite expensive.
