Shanaka has captained Sri Lanka and has played in the Indian Premier League. This experience is serving him well in Bangladesh. He is one of the best seamers at the tournament.
Ross joined Dhaka and hit a 50 shortly after arriving from the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League. Anticipate another big performance from him.
Lewis is in decent form. His last two innings in this tournament have yielded 37 and 53. He is in a good position to do well again.
Durdanto Dhaka and the Khulna Tigers will play the 14th match of this year's Bangladesh Premier League. Khulna and Dhaka currently occupy first and sixth position, respectively, on the 2024 BPL's seven-team points table.
There will be plenty to bet on before and during this match. Let's see what the cricket odds and betting markets have in store for this key BPL fixture in Sylhet.
Dhaka and Khulna met twice during last year's Bangladesh Premier League. Dhaka won on both occasions.
Watch this match and the rest of the tournament on the JioCinema app in India. This is a great way to stream live cricket matches. The tournament is being broadcast on the Star Sports Network in India, too.
Dhaka started the tournament with victory over the Comilla Victorians, but have since slipped to back-to-back defeats against the Chattogram Challengers and Rangpur Riders. They require another win here to stay in contention for the next stage of the tournament.
Local talent Mohammad Naim and Australian recruit Alex Ross have been Dhaka's standout performers with the bat so far this BPL. Naim has hit 69 runs in three innings and Ross 62 in two. Those numbers, admittedly, are not superb - but there is plenty of room to grow for this duo and the rest of the batting order.
Fast bowler Shoriful Islam has raced to six wickets in three matches this BPL season. To average two wickets per match, in this format, over an extended period, is a tremendous feat. Fellow fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has offered Islam good support with four wickets.
The Tigers are undefeated this BPL season. They have gathered three successive wins against the Challengers, Riders and Fortune Barishal. A fourth consecutive victory would show they are among the genuine title contenders, but Khulna will be hard pressed against Dhaka.
West Indian batter Evin Lewis is Khulna's most prolific batter so far this season. He has hit 104 runs in three innings - and is striking at almost 200 runs per 100 deliveries. This is a T20 World Cup year - and Lewis is reminding the national selectors of his prowess at the top of the order.
Sri Lankan seamer Dasun Shanaka and Bangladesh spinner Nahidul Islam are the Tigers' top wicket-takers in 2024. They have four each - and have been a consistent threat to the opposition collectively and individually. Shanaka and Islam could be key in this fixture as well.
The Sylhet International Cricket Stadium has hosted four 2024 BPL fixtures so far. On all four occasions, the team to win the toss has chosen to field first.
All four decisions, though, resulted in defeat. The team that batted first won four times. It'll be interesting to see what the toss-winning captain chooses to do this time.
The last three first-innings totals at this ground have been 130, 193 and 183. This is a relatively high-scoring venue. A first-innings total of 170-plus can be considered competitive here.
It's well worth playing two specialist spinners on this pitch, which is bound to offer extra turn. No rain is forecast in Sylhet on matchday.
Khulna look in the strongest position to win here. They have plenty of momentum after three successive wins this BPL season. Their batting resources are in form.
Bet on 1.66 favourites Khulna Tigers to beat 2.28 underdogs Durdanto Dhaka to win this match.
