Betting Tips

Highest individual score

1.83

The Shere Bangla Stadium has seen its fair share of high-scoring matches and the pitch is good to bat on, especially in the second half. As both teams have some solid players, we are expecting to see at least one of them play a big inning.

Most match 4s

1.76

The Strikers have a strong team at their disposal. Batsmen like Najmul Hossain Shanto, Harry Tector, and Ben Cutting are all capable of striking meaty blows. We are therefore backing them to score the higher number of boundaries in this match.

The much-awaited 10th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League is set to kick off this Friday with a double-header. The Chattogram Challengers will take on the Sylhet Strikers in the second match at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Mirpur.

This match will be live-streamed on the FanCode App. One can also watch it live on the Sony Ten Sports Network.

CAV vs SSR Team Previews

Chattogram Challengers

After making it to the playoffs for 3 consecutive seasons, the Chattogram Challengers had a disappointing outing last season as they finished at the bottom of the points table. Nevertheless, the team has made some changes to the squad and hopes that it will have a positive impact on their fortune.

The batting line-up consists of local talents including Tanzid Hasan, Shahadat Hossain, Mohammad Haris, and Imranuzzaman. They will be joined by Stephen Eskinazi and Najibullah Zadran, both of whom are clean strikers of the ball and can score big runs.

All-rounder Shuvagata Hom retains his place in the squad, while Curtis Campher has been included to play the role of a finisher. The pace attack also bears a new look. Bilal Khan, Shohidul Islam, Mohammad Hasnain, and Al-Amin Hossain are all quality bowlers who can bowl well with the new ball as well as toward the death.

The team is however a bit lacking when it comes to spin as there are no full-time spinners on the squad.

Chattogram Challengers Expected Playing 11

  • Avishka Fernando
  • Tanzid Hasan Tamim
  • Shahadat Hossain
  • Najibullah Zadran
  • Imran Uzzaman
  • Shuvagata Hom
  • Nihaduzzaman
  • Shohidul Islam
  • Al-Amin Hossain
  • Bilal Khan
  • Curtis Campher

Sylhet Strikers

The Sylhet Strikers had an excellent outing last season as they finished at the top of the points table during the group stages. The team even made it to the finals but was defeated by the Comilla Victorians, denying the Strikers their first-ever BPL title.

While Najmul Hossain Shanto retains his place in the squad, the Strikers are set to play without Mushfiqur Rahim, who has joined Fortune Barishal. Rahim will be replaced by Zakir Hasan, who is a good player in the middle order.

Shanto is likely to be joined by Mohammad Mithun at the top of the order, while Harry Tector and Yasir Ali come in to strengthen the middle order. The Strikers have also signed up all-rounders Ben Cutting, Samit Patel, and Dushan Hemantha in a bid to add depth to the batting line-up.

Coming to the pace attack, veteran Mashrafe Mortaza will lead the attack with the new ball alongside Rejaur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan, and Shafiqul Islam. The spin department consists of Jawad Mohammad, Nayeem Hasan, and Nazmul Islam.

Sylhet Strikers Expected Playing 11

  • Mashrafe Mortaza
  • Najmul Hossain Shanto
  • Mohammad Mithun
  • Zakir Hasan
  • Yasir Ali
  • Harry Tector
  • Benny Howell
  • Ben Cutting
  • Tanzim Hasan Sakib

  • Richard Ngarava

CAV vs SSR Toss Prediction

The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at Mirpur is well-balanced and we can expect an even contest between the bat and the ball. The quicker bowlers will get some help when the ball is new, but the surface does get easier to bat as the match progresses. While the average first-inning score here is around 155, the team batting first will look to score at least 180 to give the bowlers a fair chance.

The weather in Mirpur is likely to be clear with temperatures of below 20 degrees Celsius.

CAV vs SSR Betting Tips

Both teams have made significant changes to their squad and it remains to be seen how these changes translate into on-field performance. However, looking at the records, we feel that the Sylhet Strikers have a slight edge in this contest.

Bet on the Sylhet Strikers to win.
