The Chattogram Challengers started the season well but with 3 losses in the last 4 matches, their form has seen a slight dip. Nevertheless, the team still finds itself in the 3rd spot on the points table.

The batting has been a hit or a miss for the Challengers this season. Tanzid Hasan and Josh Brown are likely to open the batting for the team. Hasan played an impressive knock of 41 runs in the last match, albeit for a losing cause. He is also the leading run-scorer for the team.

Tom Bruce will be the key player in the middle order, with Shykat Ali and Shahadat Hossain playing a supporting role. The team also has a couple of quality all-rounders in the form of Shuvagata Hom and Curtis Campher who add depth to the batting.

The team has a pretty solid pace attack consisting of Bilal Khan, Shohidul Islam, and Al-Amin Hossain. The spin department does look a bit understaffed with Nihaduzzman being the only full-time spinner.

Rony Talukdar and Reeza Hendricks weren’t able to give the team a good start in the last match but remain a quality opening pair who can score plenty of runs in the Powerplay. The Rangpur Riders’ biggest strength lies in the quality of all-rounders.

Shakib Al-Hasan has been in excellent form, scoring 134 runs and also picking up 13 wickets. Similarly, Mahedi Hasan also picked up 13 wickets while also scoring 109 runs. In addition, the middle order consists of Dwaine Pretorius, Nurul Hasan, and James Neesham.

Imran Tahir bowled a sensational spell in the last match, picking up a fifer. The seam attack will be led by Hasan Mahmud, who has 10 wickets against his name.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium is excellent to bat on. There is plenty of bounce and pace, especially in the first half and the batsmen will be able to play their shots naturally.

The pitch does slow down a bit during the second innings and the spinners will get some grip and turn, making life difficult for the batsmen. Anything over 180 can be difficult to chase on this ground.

The weather is likely to be clear with temperatures of between 20 and 25 degrees.
