The Thunder have collected just one win this BBL season. They will go into this match in the wake of recent defeats to the Hobart Hurricanes, Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers. Sydney have a lot of work to do if they want to remain in contention for a play-off berth.
Cameron Bancroft has been their standout performer with the bat. He has already collected 202 runs this BBL season. Alex Ross and Oliver Davies have offered solid support with 148 and 142 runs, respectively. Sydney could do with more from England recruit Alex Hales, though. He has delivered just 119 runs in six innings.
Daniel Sams and Zaman Khan have been at the fore of Sydney's ambition with the ball. They have shared 19 wickets in this season's BBL. Sams is among the best left-arm seamers in the tournament and has taken 11 of those 19 wickets. Khan's outright pace keeps challenging many batters.

Perth Scorchers
Perth put together four wins in a row over the Melbourne Stars, Melbourne Renegades, Adelaide Strikers and Hobart Hurricanes before slipping to defeat to the Strikers. They are third on the points table for good reason after rallying well with bat and ball this season.
Aaron Hardie is an immense asset with the bat for the Scorchers. He has pulled together 251 runs in six innings at an average of 63. He is striking at 139 runs per ball. Those are impressive numbers from this top talent. Laurie Evans and Josh Inglis have also performed well alongside Hardie.
With nine wickets each, Jason Behrendorff and Lance Morris have been Perth's leading seamers this BBL season. Morris has been bowling with relatively extreme pace and, again, conditions at the Sydney Showground Stadium could really suit his style of bowling.
The Scorchers have won the BBL title a record five times. They are the reigning champions and have not been without the title since 2021. They are the only BBL team to have won the title two seasons in a row twice. This year, they're looking to turn one of those into thrice.
