Seifert is the most consistent batsman from the Renegades this season. He has scored at least 21 runs in 3 of his last 4 innings. Seeing his performance, we are backing him to play a good knock.
The pitch at the Docklands Stadium isn’t the easiest to bat on. The batsmen will find it difficult to score runs and play the big shots. We are therefore unlikely to see a big over.
The Adelaide Strikers will look to get back to winning ways as they take on the Melbourne Renegades on Thursday. The two teams will clash at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne.
The two teams have played 19 matches so far against each other. The Renegades have won 8 while the Adelaide Strikers have won 11.
This match will be live-streamed on the Disney+ Hotstar App. One can also watch it live on the Star Sports Network.
The Melbourne Renegades have been a bit inconsistent this year, winning only 2 of their 4 matches so far.
Except for Tim Seifert, the batting from the Renegades has been pretty ordinary. Seifert is the leading run-scorer for the team and has scored 129 runs at an average of 43.00. The opening pair of Jake Fraser-McGurk and Josh Brown has got a couple of good starts but have failed to capitalize on them.
Seifert will be supported by Jacob Bethell, Laurie Evans, and Mackenzie Harvey in the middle order.
The Renegades’ seam bowlers have done a decent job with Will Sutherland and Thomas Rogers doing the heavy lifting. Fergus O Neill and Kane Richardson have played a supporting role, picking up 7 wickets among themselves.
Adam Zampa is yet to showcase his abilities here.
The Adelaide Strikers are struggling at the moment and have won just one of their 5 matches. As a result, the team is currently placed 7th on the points table.
With the team’s skipper, Matthew Short nursing an injury, his availability for this match remains a question mark. He has been replaced by Jake Weatherald, who has been inconsistent with the bat. D’Arcy Short started the season well but has seen a dip in his form.
The Adelaide Strikers have many quality batsmen in the middle order like Jamie Overton, Ollie Pope, Chris Lynn, and Alex Ross but they haven’t been consistent enough. Brendan Doggett was quite impressive with the bat as well as the ball in the previous game and will once again lead the pace attack of Henry Thornton and Liam Scott.
Lloyd Pope is the most successful spinner for the team and will be supported by Cameron Boyce.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.
The pitch at the Docklands Stadium isn’t the easiest to bat on. The surface is a bit slow and the ball holds back a bit after pitching, making it difficult for the batsmen to time the ball. Also, the outfield here isn’t the quickest. Anything over 160 will be difficult to chase on this track.
The weather will be cloudy with temperatures of Under 20 degrees.
While the Melbourne Renegades have been inconsistent, they have played better than the Adelaide Strikers. The latter has lost each of its last 3 matches and as it plays on a difficult pitch, they will find it difficult to make a comeback.
Bet on the Melbourne Renegades to win.
