Total wickets Under 13.5
Just one of the last 9 matches played here has seen 14 or more wickets fall. As the bowlers from both sides haven’t been consistent, we are expecting that trend to continue.
Colin Munro to score Under 21.5 runs
Munro hasn’t been in the best of forms this year. He has an average of 9.20 in this series and has crossed the 22-run mark just twice in his last 10 T20 innings.
The Adelaide Strikers will be fighting for survival as they host Brisbane Heat for match number 31 in the ongoing BBL. The two teams will faceoff at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday.
The two teams have faced each other in 20 matches. Brisbane has won 11 while Adelaide has won 9.
This match will be live-streamed on the Disney+ Hotstar App and Star Sports Network.
The Adelaide Strikers have managed to win only 2 matches so far and are currently placed 7th on the points table. With only 3 more games to go including this one, the Strikers will have to win here to keep their qualification hopes alive.
As the team awaits the return of skipper Matthew Short, D’Arcy Short and Chris Lynn continue to open the batting. Lynn is the team’s leading run-scorer with 183 runs and continues to be a key batsman for the Strikers.
Jamie Overton, Alex Ross, and Ollie Pope have all contributed in patches but the batting line-up needs to work collectively if the Strikers want to win.
Overton has also bowled well to pick up 9 wickets and has provided excellent support to Henry Thornton, who has 11 against his name. Lloyd Pope is the team’s most successful spinner with 11 wickets.
With 7 points in as many matches, Brisbane Heat is currently 4th on the points table. With teams like the Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades close on its heels, Heat cannot afford to slip here.
Brisbane comes into this contest on the back of a brilliant win against Sydney Thunder on Monday. Max Bryant scored his 2nd half-century of the season and his partnership with Matt Renshaw was the key.
Nathan McSweeney started the season well but his form has tapered a bit in the last week and the team will need him to get back to form. Colin Munro hasn’t been successful at the top of the order and will need to score more runs in partnership with Jack Wood.
Coming to the bowling, the pace department has been strengthened with the return of Michael Neser, who will join Xavier Bartlett and Spencer Johnson. Matthew Kuhnemann and Mitchell Swepson also retain their place but haven’t been as successful this year.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.
The pitch in Adelaide is balanced and the seamers will have fun bowling here, at least when the ball is new and hard. There is good pace and bounce on offer and the ball moves through the air as well. However, as the ball gets softer, playing shots will get easier. The team batting first will look to score around the 180-run mark.
The weather is likely to be cloudy with temperatures of around 25 degrees.
Adelaide Strikers have struggled to perform throughout this season and are staring at a must-win situation to survive. Brisbane on the other hand isn’t in the best of form as either, but they have quite a few matchwinners who can turn things in their favor. They also have a pretty good recent record against the Strikers.
Bet on the Brisbane Heat to win.
