The pitch at Warner Park provides the batsmen plenty of opportunities to score runs. The boundaries here aren’t the biggest as well. As both teams have some big strikers of the ball, we can expect a couple of big overs.
Das hasn’t been in the best of forms recently and has failed to make it to double-digits in any of his last 6 innings. He has crossed the 22-run mark just twice in his last 8 innings against the West Indies and we reckon he will have another poor outing.
The West Indies will aim for a clean sweep as it faces Bangladesh for the 3rd and final match of the ODI series on Thursday. The two teams will clash at Warner Park in Basseterre.
The two teams have faced each other in 46 matches to date. The West Indies have a slight edge with 23 wins compared to 21 for Bangladesh. 2 matches had no outcome.
This match will be live-streamed on the FanCode App.
The West Indies went into this series on the back of 11 consecutive losses against Bangladesh. However, they have scripted a remarkable turnaround and have an unassailable 2-0 lead this time around.
Brandon King and Evin Lewis gave the team a strong start in the last match and the same will be expected from them in this game as well. The middle order is the biggest strength for the West Indies as Shai Hope, Keacy Carty, and Sherfane Rutherford are all in excellent form. Rutherford is the leading run-scorer for the tournament.
The team is unlikely to make changes to its winning team and that means all-rounders Romario Shepherd, Roston Chase, and Justin Greaves will add depth to the batting. Jayden Seales bowled a brilliant spell in the last match to pick up 4 wickets as he ripped through the top order and handed his team a convincing victory.
Seales will lead the attack with the new ball along with Marquino Mindley while Gudakesh Motie will feature in the spin department.
Bangladesh was completely outplayed on Tuesday and has already lost the series. They will now look to win this match to gain some momentum ahead of the T20 series.
The batting was a big disappointment in the last match and the visitors will have to work on that aspect before the start of this match. Barring Mahmudullah and Tanzid Hasan, none of the batsmen were able to make an impact on the proceedings.
Soumya Sarkar and Litton Das continue to struggle with the bat. Bangladesh needs at least one of them to bounce back and play well here. That said, the visitors have plenty of all-rounders in the team including Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Afif Hossain.
The bowling, especially from the pacers, has been below par. Nahid Rana, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam have all struggled. Rishad Hossain, who is the specialist spinner on the team, has picked up 1 wicket in each game.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.
The pitch at Warner Park is likely to be firm and there will be some moisture in the surface. The quicker bowlers will get some swing and seam movement early on in the match and the batsmen will have to settle down before they start playing the big shots.
That said, the venue has hosted some high-scoring matches and a score of around 290 will be a par score.
The weather will be cloudy and humid with temperatures of under 30 degrees.
The West Indies has been clinical in its performance in the last couple of matches and we are expecting them to continue playing well. Bangladesh needs a lot of introspection and will have to play really well to win this one.
