Bangladesh has lost each of its last 6 T20 matches
Bangladesh's lack of batting firepower is a huge problem to overcome
Kusal Mendis to score Over 22.5 runs
Kusal Mendis is in good form of late and was the leading run-scorer in the recently concluded ODI series. He has an average of over 50 against Bangladesh and has scored at least 23 runs in 5 of his last 6 matches against them, including 4 half-centuries. We are therefore backing him to play a good knock.
Sri Lanka total runs before fall of 1st wicket Over 22.5
Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis form a strong opening pair and are averaging close to 40 runs per inning. They have scored at least 23 runs as a pair in 6 of their last 8 outings and we expect a good start from them.

After winning the Test series and the ODI series, Sri Lanka will now have its sights on the shortest format as well. The team played well on Thursday to secure an early lead.
Kusal Mendis continues with his excellent form from the ODI series as he slammed a half-century to give his team a strong start. Pathum Nissanka will join him in the opening slot. The latter has been in fine touch as well.
The middle order has a couple of experienced batsmen in Kusal Perera and Avishka Fernando, while all-rounders Charith Asalanka, Dasun Shanaka, and Chamika Karunaratne will add depth to the batting. The hosts have a well-balanced bowling unit at their disposal.
With Wanindu Hasaranga sitting out of this series, Maheesh Theekshana will lead the spin department along with Jeffrey Vandersay. Nuwan Thushara and Binura Fernando will lead the attack with the new ball.

Bangladesh will be disappointed with the way they performed in the first T20, especially with the bat. They now face a must-win situation if they want to save the series.
A lot will depend on the opening pair of Parvez Emon and Tanzid Hasan. The duo gave Bangladesh a decent start in the previous match and will look to do so again. The middle order has plenty of experienced faces like Litton Das, Mohammad Naim, and Towhid Hridoy.
All of them are quality batsmen and Bangladesh will want at least one of them to stay till the death overs. There are also a couple of dependable all-rounders in the form of Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shamim Hossain, who add depth to the batting.
The bowling was pretty ordinary as well. Bangladesh could replace Mohammad Saifuddin to bring in Mustafizur Rahman, who will join Taskin Ahmed and Tanzim Hasan Sakib in the pace department. Rishad Hossain continues to lead the spin attack.

3 of the 8 matches played here were won while chasing while 5 were won after batting first. In half of those games, the team winning the toss opted to field first. However, we feel that batting first might be a better option.
The pitch at Dambulla isn’t the easiest to bat on. The average first-inning score here in 8 T20Is is under 120 runs. The surface here is on the slower side and the batsmen need to settle down before they can start playing the big shots. The bowlers who vary their line and length can expect plenty of surface. Also, the pitch tends to slow down as the match progresses.
The weather is expected to remain overcast throughout the day and there might be some drizzle.
We are backing Sri Lanka to win this match. They have done a good job throughout this tour and have emerged as a stronger team. Sri Lanka has a strong and experienced batting unit plus a well-balanced bowling attack. Bangladesh has played well in patches but needs to come up with something special if they want to win here.
Bet on Sri Lanka to win this match.
SL vs BAN win percentage stands at 73% in favor of SL.
