Sri Lanka To Win, 1.44
Sri Lanka won the previous T20I series against Bangladesh and also dominated the ODI series just completed
Kusal Mendis is one of the linchpins of the Sri Lankan batting lineup across formats and in great form
Bangladesh has improved as a team but it continues to struggle for any sort of consistent impact
Bangladesh to score under 0.5 runs on the first delivery of their innings
In the previous first delivery of a T20I series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, the Bangladeshis started with a dot ball. They may start slower in this one too, giving themselves a safer approach to avoid early wickets.
The first dismissal of the match to be caught
Five of the seven Black Caps dismissals in Sri Lanka’s previous T20I were through caught dismissals. That should be no issue in a format where the ball tends to sail in the air a lot. Ultimately, this bet wouldn’t come with too much risk.

These Asian rivals will give everything to get one over each other. As they look to prepare for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, this should be a great test for where the combinations of each squad stand. The Sri Lankans should have full confidence in taking a home T20I series win.

The Sri Lankans hold the keys to unlocking this T20I series after a two-one victory in the previous T20I series. Bangladesh won’t be a walkover though. Their Asian counterparts have remained competitive. In the last five T20I matches, Sri Lanka leads three-two.
The Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh first T20I at Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium on Thursday, 10 July 2025 will be telecast live and live-streamed in India. The Star Sports Network, SonyLiv app and FanCode app will all have the match available on them.
Live scores, ball-by-ball commentary, and in-game betting odds will be updated on ocbscores.com.
Pathum Nissanka brings consistency and a compact technique to the crease. The Sri Lankan opener has 374 runs in his past ten T20Is. Kusal Mendis adds dynamism with his stroke play and quick scoring ability.
The wicketkeeper-batter has almost 2000 T20I runs. Kusal Perera's explosive hitting provided him with a T20I century in his last outing, against New Zealand. Avishka Fernando will give the side some strong momentum during the middle phase.
The right-handed batter has 61 runs in his past two T20 innings. Captain Charith Asalanka knows how to get the innings moving with the ability to power his way through bowling attacks. The Sri Lankan skipper romped to 46 runs off 24 balls in his previous T20I innings.
Kamindu Mendis brings a unique skill set. The all-rounder hit a score of 32 not out for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in his previous T20 innings. Wanindu Hasaranga is ranked among the world's premier T20 all-rounders. He grabbed two wickets in his previous T20I. Youngster Dunith Wellalage adds further balance with his promising left-arm spin and capable batting. He took three wickets in his last domestic T20 match.
The crafty Maheesh Theekshana will outfox many a Bangladeshi batter. The off-spinner has 13 wickets in his past ten T20I matches. Binura Fernando comes in refreshed after taking three wickets in his past two T20 games for Chittagong Kings in the BPL. Nuwan Thushara should be a potent weapon in the Sri Lankan bowling lineup after he starred with the ball against Bangladesh in the 2024 T20 World Cup with four wickets.
Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis (wk), Kusal Perera, Avishka Fernando, Charith Asalanka (c), Kamindu Mendis, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dunith Wellalage, Maheesh Theekshana, Binura Fernando, Nuwan Thushara

Litton Das is the leader of the side on the field and in the batting lineup. The talented wicketkeeper-batter hit a score of 48 in the first T20I against Pakistan in June. Emerging talents Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon offer youthful exuberance and fearless batting in the opening slots.
Their 110-run stand against Pakistan recently put the team on the front foot from the very beginning. Towhid Hridoy adds stability to the middle order. He already has a half-century on the tour in the ODI series. Shamim Hossain's aggressive style and finishing skills are much needed. The left-hander has 880 runs domestically in the BPL. Jaker Ali gives the side another run-scoring option after 123 runs in his previous two T20I series.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz is instrumental as an all-rounder. Miraz took two wickets in his previous T20I. Mahedi Hasan complements Miraz with a similar mould of aggressive batting down the order and effective spin bowling. Hasan’s numbers of 915 runs and 73 wickets in the BPL have given him a strong base to work from in the national set-up.
Mustafizur Rahman is renowned for his cutters, slower balls and death bowling expertise. The left-armer took three wickets in his previous T20 game, for Delhi Capitals. Rishad Hossain introduces a young leg-spin option. In T20s, Hossain has more than 80 wickets. Tanzim Hasan Sakib further supports the pace attack with his lively seam bowling. He took four wickets and scored a half-century in his previous T20I series.
Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Litton Das (c/wk), Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Jaker Ali, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mahedi Hasan, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Rishad Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman
The previous match between the teams was won by Bangladesh while chasing. Bangladesh also lost their previous T20I match after batting first. Either captain should prefer chasing.
The typical conditions in Pallekele are dry and should benefit the spinners the most out of any department of the game. The batters will need to adjust quickly to slower conditions. They may never feel fully comfortable with the pitch if the spinners can find grip and turn. Sri Lanka scored 159 for seven in their previous T20I first innings at home.
Weather conditions in Pallekele on matchday will be set up for a good game of cricket. The partly sunny conditions with only four percent chance of rain means that the surface shouldn’t be majorly affected.
The Sri Lanka and Bangladesh ODI series was a feistily competitive affair. That should flow into the shorter of the white-ball formats. While Bangladesh won’t have home advantage, they should be somewhat familiar to other subcontinental conditions. The Sri Lankans will remain favourites in front of their home crowd, particularly from the start of the T20I series.
A better batting lineup and a very versatile bowling attack gives Sri Lanka the clear advantage.
Bet on Sri Lanka to win this match.
SL vs BAN win percentage stands at 65% in favor of SL.
