Total runs for Pakistan in the opening over to be under 6.5 runs
Pakistan started with a sedate four runs in their opening over of their previous T20I match. With it being the opening game of this T20I series and teams more likely to be cautious now, this bet should be on.
Bangladesh total runs in the first six overs to beUnderr 44.5 runs
The Bangladeshi batters had an interesting powerplay in their previous T20I against the United Arab Emirates. The visitors scored 49 runs while also losing four wickets in their first six overs. This bet could be worth going for, given the Bangladesh side may struggle against the superior Pakistani batting.
Most of this Pakistani T20I squad will be fresh from their stints with their various PSL teams. They will be eager to transform some outstanding domestic performances into glory on the international stage. Bangladesh have been hit badly by a couple of shock losses to the United Arab Emirates.

Bangladesh won the most recent game against Pakistan at the Asia games. Arguably, neither team was at full strength. Pakistan managed nine wins on the trot, spanning from 2016 to 2022, leading up to that loss.
Pakistan takes on Bangladesh in the T20I series opener at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday, 28 May 2025. The FanCode app will be the place to catch the live-stream in India.
Fakhar Zaman is an aggressive left-handed opening batter who should be ready to explode against Bangladesh, considering he has 423 runs in T20Is when playing at home in Pakistan. Saim Ayub has made significant strides internationally, amassing 189 runs in his past four T20I outings.
Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris has more than proven his abilities domestically with over 900 runs in the PSL. Hasan Nawaz showcased his potential domestically with an unbeaten 67 in a recent T20 match for Quetta Gladiators.
The all-rounders have been instrumental in Pakistan's recent successes. Salman Agha, the team's captain, is in decent form with the bat after a score of 44 for Islamabad United against Quetta Gladiators. Khushdil Shah has made a start to his T20I career but will demand more from himself. He has 384 runs and four wickets currently. Shadab Khan is a typical match-winner with over 700 runs and over 100 wickets for Pakistan in the shortest white-ball format. Faheem Ashraf has demonstrated his all-round capabilities in the T20 format with over 90 wickets and over 900 runs in the PSL.
Pakistan's bowling attack remains formidable. Naseem Shah tends to take important wickets in both domestic and international matches. The young fast bowler has 25 T20I wickets. Mystery spinner Abrar Ahmed has rolled through batting lineups with 12 wickets in his past seven T20I matches.
Haris Rauf has been equal to the task with 11 wickets in his past eight T20I appearances.
Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Mohammad Haris (wk), Hasan Nawaz, Salman Agha (c), Khushdil Shah, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Abrar Ahmed
Left-handed opener Tanzid Hasan has 454 T20I runs with four fifties. Parvez Hossain Emon is firmly engraving his mark as a solid opener for Bangladesh in T20Is after scoring a century against the United Arab Emirates. Najmul Hossain Shanto, primarily batting at number three, is only 13 runs short of bringing up 1000 T20I runs. He has four half-centuries in T20Is. Current T20I captain Litton Das brings an all-round package of over 2000 runs, 60 catches and nine stumping.
Towhid Hridoy had a mixed series against the UAE, but did score 45 in the second T20I. Wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali ended his previous T20I series with an innings of 41 runs. In the all-round department, Rishad Hossain’s batting has a bit more to be desired. He has a T20I half-century though. His leg-spin took three wickets in two matches against the UAE.
22-year-old Tanzim Hasan Sakib has raced to 28 T20I wickets, while taking a best of four for seven versus Nepal. Young pacer Hasan Mahmud put his name in lights when he took three wickets in the opening T20I against the UAE.
Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam has been a consistent performer for Bangladesh. He is one wicket away from a well-deserved 50 T20I wickets. Mustafizur Rahman is the most experienced among the bowling group. He has played 107 T20Is, taking three four-wicket hauls and two five-wicket hauls along the way.
Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain Emon, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das (c), Towhid Hridoy, Jaker Ali (wk), Rishad Hossain, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman
Four of the past five results in this head-to-head have been won by the side batting second. Either captain should be happy to chase under the lights at Gaddafi Stadium.
On matchday, Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium is expected to experience hot and dry conditions during the night. Humidity levels are anticipated to be low, around 28%, and there is no significant chance of rainfall.
Given the hot and dry conditions, the pitch is likely to remain consistent throughout the match. The spinners may find some grip as the ball wears and because of the dry pitch.
Overall, bowlers will need to rely on variations and strategic planning to contain the batters. Pakistan has only ever hosted three T20I matches against Bangladesh. The average of the two first innings totals at Gaddafi Stadium between these sides is 139.
Both teams have packed their squads with some of their strong performers in domestic cricket, while also maintaining a balance of proven international quality. Pakistan has some notable omissions but also has the back-up to still rock up as the favourites for this T20I series. Bangladesh should challenge Pakistan on paper, but their surprising losses to the UAE may put them on the back foot.
