Betting Tips

Total runs for the first over in Australia Women’s innings to be under 3.5 runs

2.00

The Australian Women have dangerous opening batters, but they may start with a more cautious approach in the opening over. The ODI format allows for some extra time, especially against a swinging new ball.

First Boundary to be a 4

1.02

This is a very low return bet but one that is almost certain to come through. You can use this as a banker to get an easy win under your belt.

Both teams are expected to provide an entertaining series because of their quality squads. They have both also won their previous Women’s ODI series, meaning they have significant winning momentum behind them. Any Australian team is tough to beat at home. That may show in this encounter.

England Women won the previous Women’s ODI series against Australia Women. However, the home side won the previous Women’s ODI series when it was hosted down under.

Australia Women

Australia Women continue to be a dominant force in international cricket led by their exciting skipper and wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy.

The Australian captain hit an impressive 70 against England Women in her previous innings. Healy’s aggressive top-order batting will be complemented by rising star Phoebe Litchfield. The youngster has two Women’s ODI centuries. Their left-hand and right-hand combination could put the bowlers off their lines from the start.

Veteran all-rounder Ellyse Perry remains a key player with her dependable performances in both batting and bowling. Beth Mooney's batting consistency provides stability in the middle order. The experienced Mooney has almost 2500 Women’s ODI runs.

The versatile Ashleigh Gardner and power-hitter Tahlia McGrath add depth with their explosive batting and crucial overs they can provide with the ball. Gardner was named player-of-the-match in game one for her 42 not out, three for 19 and two catches.

Megan Schutt and Darcie Brown are two bowlers who offer a mix of swing and pace. Alana King’s leg-spin and Kim Garth’s experience as a seam-bowling all-rounder further strengthen the attack. Annabel Sutherland provides additional all-round support to Australia’s strong squad.

All three of Garth, Sutherland and King took two wickets each in the first Women’s ODI at North Sydney.

Maia Bouchier brings an aggressive batting approach alongside opening partner Beaumont. Skipper Heather Knight's calm leadership and middle-order stability will be crucial to her side’s fortunes. She top-scored for the England Women in the previous Women’s ODI with 39 runs.

Star all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt is expected to be key with both bat and ball. You can expect her to be one of Knight’s first game-changers to turn to. The all-rounder has a Women’s ODI batting high score of 148 not out.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge adds firepower to the batting lineup as a batter capable of accelerating the scoring rate. Wicketkeeper-batter Amy Jones provides a reliable presence behind the stumps and with bat in hand. Alice Capsey is an exciting prospect known for her fearless batting and off-spin options.

AUS W vs ENG W Toss Prediction

The previous Women’s Ashes ODI between the Aussies and the English at Melbourne was won by the home team. They did so by chasing a target of 164. Both teams may prefer chasing.

Pitch and Conditions

As with most pitches around Australia, Junction Oval may provide the bowlers with good carry and bounce. The seamers could be tricky on this wicket inside the opening powerplay. The nature of the bouncy wicket also means that batters will have plenty of run-scoring opportunities if they can adjust well. England Women only managed a score of 163 all out when they last visited Junction Oval for a Women’s ODI against Australia Women.

The weather on matchday should be decent all-round. Conditions are expected to be very hot and humid while being partly cloudy. There is only a five percent chance of rain.

AUS W vs ENG W Betting Tips

Australia Women will be heavily favoured in their home conditions. While the first match was closer than expected, Australia is unlikely to have successive poor days. Ultimately, the strength and calibre of the Aussies might be too powerful for the English visitors.

Bet on Australia Women to win this match.
