Afghanistan's batting order boasts several good batters that are in good form. Their batting line-up with Omarzai, Karim Janat, and Gulbadin Naib can put the Zim bowling to the sword on this batting track. So, we expect the top batter to be from Afghanistan.
Afghanistan has a world-class spin bowling attack comprising of Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, and Gulbadin Naib. This seems like an easy bet to place a moderately aggressive wager.
The pitch at the Harare Sports Club will initially be good for the batters. When the wicket is hard, and the ball comes onto the bat nicely, they can expect to score more than 23 runs from their first three overs.
Many Zimbabwe batters, such as W Madhevere, RP Burl, and Sikandar Raza, have hit scores over 60 on this track, which favors the batters, especially early on. Add to that the in-form Afghan batting order, and we can bet on someone scoring over 59 runs on this batting-friendly track.
The Afghanistan men's cricket team is visiting Zimbabwe for a series of T20I, ODI, and test matches. They will play the T20I games first on the tour. The first T20I match of this series will be played on Wednesday, December 11th, at the Harare Sports Club in Harare. Let's closely examine the pitch report, match preview, betting tips, and match prediction for this contest.
The Zimbabwe and Afghanistan teams have played each other on four occasions in the T20I format. Things have gone to the Afghanistan team all the way. They lead in this head-to-head 14-1.
This game will not be available on TV for Indian cricket enthusiasts. However, viewers can enjoy the contest on the FanCode site and app.
The hosts, Zimbabwe, were recently handed a 2-1 series defeat by the Pakistan team in their last foray into a T20I series. After being bowled out for 108 runs and 57 runs in the first couple of games of the series, they pulled off a win in the last match.
Wesly Madhevere was asked to return to the side for the series against Pakistan. He did not look good at all. He might get more opportunities against Afghanistan. The Zim opener, Brian Bennett, was in good shape in the last game and helped his team chase down the opposition score.
Even the other batters from the Zimbabwe team have not appeared to be in the best of shape. However, some batters, such as Tadiwanashe Marumani, will be the key batters to watch out for in the Zim top order.
The Zim line-up has some experience with top internationals such as skipper Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl. Clive Madande is another crucial batter for the Zimbabwe line-up. Wellington Masakadza and Blessing Muzarabani will lead the Zimbabwe bowling attack.
Afghanistan has a good bowling attack, and this attack has proved its worth in recent years. They beat New Zealand and Australia in the T20I World Cup to reach the semi-finals. This attack is likely to cause several challenges for the hosts in the series.
Afghanistan is led by the mercurial leggie Rashid Khan. Afghanistan management has picked all its top players for this series. This is the first time Afghanistan is playing T20I cricket after losing to the South African team in the T20I World Cup.
Afghanistan enjoys a good record against Zimbabwe in the T20I format. They have some formidable spinners, such as Noor Ahmed, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and the skipper Rashid Khan.
Their fast-bowling department has bowlers such as Fazlhaq Farooqi and Azmatullah Omarzai. So, they have a lot of firepower in their bowling attack, with several bowlers capable of sounding the death bell. There are some experienced all-rounders in the line-up, such as Gulbadin Naib and Mohammad Nabi.
We have seen as many as 47 T0I games played at the venue of Harare Sports Club. The teams batting first enjoyed more success, with 27 wins, and the teams batting second won 19 games. So, after winning the coin flip, the skipper might wish to bat first. Batting second against a crafty Afghanistan spin bowling attack on a wearing track might be the last thing on the Zimbabwe skipper's mind.
The wicket on offer at the Harare venue will help both batters and bowlers. This hard pitch will also help the quicks get pace and bounce. But it also means that the bowl will come onto the bat nicely. All Zim batters will be wary about facing Afghan spinners in the later stages of the contest. You can expect a hot and sunny day on the 11th of December in Harare.
There is no possibility of rainfall in this contest.
Zimbabwe is playing at home. However, they have a strong opposition to contend with here. Zimbabwe also lost a T20I series against Pakistan. Afghanistan men have an excellent record against Zimbabwe. So, considering all the facts, we reckon Afghanistan will be the favorite to win this encounter.
Bet on Afghanistan to win.
