The openers from the Northern Warriors have put up a partnership of 19 or more runs in each of the last 3 games. As they face an inconsistent bowling unit of Abu Dhabi, we reckon they will put up another good partnership.
Team Abu Dhabi will look to confirm its place in the playoffs as it faces the Northern Warriors in what will be the last group-stage match for both teams. The match will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The two teams have faced each other in 7 matches to date. The Northern Warriors won 4 while Team Abu Dhabi won 3.
This match will be live-streamed on the FanCode App.
The Northern Warriors haven’t been consistent this season but are coming into this contest on the back of a thumping win over Ajman Bolts on Friday. As a result, the team has climbed up to the 5th place and still remains in the race for the playoffs.
Finn Allen was in excellent form with the bat in the previous match, scoring 41 runs in just 20 deliveries. He and Colin Munro are likely to open the batting in this match. Brandon King is back in the playing XI and will add heft to the middle order.
Joining him there will be Sherfane Rutherford and Johnson Charles, both of whom have been the most consistent performers for the Warriors. Azmatullah Omarzai and Trent Boult make up for a strong new-ball pair and will be supported by Saqib Mahmood and Uzair Khan.
The spin attack is pretty thin though.
Team Abu Dhabi made a decent start to its campaign but has seen a dip in form over the last few days. Abu Dhabi has lost 3 of their last 4 games and has dropped down to the 3rd place on the table.
Phil Salt has been in decent form at the top of the order and has played a couple of impressive knocks this season. He will be joined by Michael Pepper at the top of the order. The latter has played 3 matches so far but is yet to make an impact.
Johnny Bairstow is another key batsman for Abu Dhabi and is also the leading run-scorer for them. There are a few other quality batsmen in the middle order including Kyle Myers, Laurie Evans, and Kadeem Alleyne. Coming to the bowling, Jordan Clarke bowled a brilliant spell in the previous match and picked up 4 wickets.
He will join Mark Adair, Adam Milne, and Zeeshan Naseer in the pace attack. Noor Ahmad is the specialist spinner in the playing XI.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.
The pitch at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium is balanced and we can expect a good contest between the bat and the ball. The pitch seems to have plenty of rough areas due to the players’ footmarks and when the ball pitches in those areas, it moves around quite a bit. Anything over 110-120 could be difficult to chase.
The weather will remain clear with temperatures of around 25 degrees.
The Northern Warriors seem to be struggling at the moment and haven’t been consistent. It is a similar story for Team Abu Dhabi as well but we feel that the former is better placed to win this match thanks to a stronger bowling attack and a deep batting line-up.
Bet on the Northern Warriors to win.
