The white-ball cricket tour of South Africa Women to the West Indies will begin tomorrow in Cave Hill. In the tour's first leg, South African Women will play three ODI games against West Indian Women. Both teams are going into this contest after a dodgy season so far.
West Indies Women were recently drubbed by English Women on their tour of England, 3-0. To make matters worse, they also lost their skipper, Hayley Matthews, to injury for the last game, which could have salvaged some pride for the island nation.

There are no injury updates available currently. Both team members are expected to be fit and available for selection tomorrow.
The track on offer here in Barbados will assist the batters and bowlers alike. The surface is hard and has bounce and pace. This will assist the fast bowlers early on, and you can typically expect movement off the seam. The hard and bouncy wicket allows the stroke-players to play through the line. Some rain interruption is possible during the contest. The temperature during the contest will remain close to 27 degrees.
Some good wicketkeeper-batters on both teams, such as S Jafta and M Mangru. But for her recent contribution to the West Indies Women's team with the bat, we recommend S Campbelle for the wicketkeeper position.
Laura Wolvaardt, S Luus, T Brits, and Q Joseph are likely to be the top batters for this contest. These batters have done well in recent games for their countries.
There are several good all-rounders on both these teams. Hayley Matthews and Marizanne Kapp return to their respective teams after injury breaks. Apart from these top two, we have A Alleyne, C Henry, A Dercksen, and C Tryon taking part in this contest.
The best bowlers likely to do well in this contest are A Fletcher and M Klaas. Some other bowlers you need to keep an eye on are A Khaka and N Mlaba.
The mercurial West Indies all-rounder and skipper Hayley Matthews is ideal for the captaincy role in this encounter. She is not just a good captain but also the main contributor with the bat and ball for the Windies women.
Marizanne Kapp, with her all-around capabilities, will be our alternative for the position of Vice Captain in this encounter. She is returning to the side after an injury layoff.
The return of Hayley Matthews to the West Indies team augurs well for the team. Similarly, the return of Marizanne Kapp will be an immense relief to the South African outfit. So, we have the full-strength sides here for the series' first game. Even though the West Indies team is playing on home turf, the South African Women have a better all-around team. You can expect them to start on a winning note and take a 1-0 lead in the ODI series.
