The Trichy Grand Cholas are one of only two teams that are yet to register a win this season. They are placed in 7th place on the table and will be eager to earn some points here. However, their record against Tiruppur isn’t the best and that could be weighing on their minds on Sunday.
The Tiruppur Tamizhans have seen some brilliant individual performances but that hasn’t translated into wins for them. Nevertheless, they will be feeling pretty confident as they head to this important contest.

There are no reports of injuries from either side
We are expecting a balanced pitch for this match. As there has been plenty of rain in Salem over the last week, there is a lot of moisture under the surface and the quicker bowlers can expect swing as well as seam movement. The batsmen will have to be careful during the Powerplay and treat deliveries according to merit.
The weather on Sunday will remain overcast and we may see some interruptions due to rain.
Tushar Raheja is in excellent form and is the obvious choice in this category. We are also picking Waseem Ahmed as he is a key player for Trichy.
U Mukilesh has done a decent job with the bat and is also a dependable bowler. We are also selecting Pradosh Ranjan Paul and Jafar Jamal as they have both played a couple of good knocks.
J Kousik, R Rajkumar, and Sanjay Yadav are all quality all-rounders who have plenty of experience playing in the TNPL and can earn points with the bat and the ball.
Since the pitch is likely to help the seamers, we are selecting T Natarajan and Esakkimuthu for the team. Sai Kishore is the only full-time spinner.
Tushar Raheja is the leading run-scorer of the tournament and is the obvious choice for captain. He has scored 3 consecutive half-centuries and is likely to continue playing well.
U Mukilesh has picked up 4 wickets so far and is the leading wicket-taker for his team. He can also be a handy batsman lower down the order and we are therefore picking him as the vice-captain.
The SCF Stadium is known to dish out balanced pitches and that is reflected in our team selection. We have picked some quality batsmen and bowlers who have done well so far and we expect them to earn plenty of points in this match. But more importantly, we have selected 3 good all-rounders who bring balance to the team. Given the conditions, we are going with a seam-heavy bowling attack.
Tushar Raheja has 543 points from the last 5 matches at an average of 108 points per game.
Tushar Raheja (218), R Rajkumar (89), Pradosh Ranjan Paul (63)
U Mukilesh (4), Sai Kishore (4), Esakkimuthu A (4)
Tushar Raheja (15), R Rajkumar (7), Jafar Jamal (4)
R Rajkumar (211.90), Tushar Raheja (198.18), J Kousik (155.00)
Sai Kishore (5.58), Selva Kumaran (6.60), Sanjay Yadav (7.10)
