One of Indian cricket’s newest homes in the Narendra Modi Stadium is set to host the all-important final of the 2025 IPL.
Both teams are vying for their maiden IPL title, adding to the high stakes of this encounter. Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured their spot in the final by defeating Punjab Kings in Qualifier One.
Punjab Kings were forced to go the longer route of beating Mumbai Indians in Qualifier Two to meet the same opponents again.

Devdutt Padikkal of Royal Challengers Bengaluru remains ruled out for the rest of the tournament and has been replaced by Mayank Agarwal. Yuzvendra Chahal is an injury concern for Punjab Kings
The weather should provide a decent spectacle for a final. The Narendra Modi Stadium pitch report suggests it may have slowed down because of the amount of cricket it’s seen this IPL. Teams batting first have largely tended to see the better returns. The toss could be a major factor influencing the match outcome and player performance. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have not played at the venue this season.
The English opener Phil Salt has been a key contributor for Royal Challengers Bengaluru with over 350 runs at a strike rate over 175 and a half-century against the Kings in his previous IPL innings. In his debut IPL season with Punjab Kings, Australian wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis has done well to be striking at over 160 this year.
RCB stalwart Virat Kohli has had a stellar season, scoring more than 600 runs and eight half-centuries in IPL 2025. Leading Punjab Kings, Shreyas Iyer propelled his team into the final with an unbeaten half-century in Qualifier two in a season of six half-centuries. The young left-handed batter Priyansh Arya impressed in his debut season with a strike rate over 180.
West Indian Romario Shepherd was tidy in his previous match with one over for only five runs and scalping one wicket. Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has been striking with the bat over 180 and took a wicket in his play-off match against Mumbai. Azmatullah Omarzai has a T20 career combo of over 1300 runs and over 100 wickets.
Australian seamer Josh Hazlewood has been revolutionary for the batting-heavy lineup of Bengaluru. He has over 20 wickets this season among an IPL career wickets tally over 50. Suyash Sharma took his best IPL figures of three for 17 in his last match. Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh only requires six more wickets to reach 100 IPL wickets in a career of two four-wicket hauls and one five-wicket haul. Yuzvendra Chahal has been an instrumental spinner for Punjab in 2025. He has 15 wickets with two four-wicket hauls this season.
Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru skipper Virat Kohli could prove a point with a lion-hearted effort in a final for his lifetime franchise. The legendary Indian cricketer made an unbeaten 73 runs against Punjab Kings earlier this season.
Current Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer could be a hot pick after a couple of memorable performances leading his side home. Iyer has an impressive T20 high score of 147 as one of his three T20 hundreds.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have added to their traditional mantra of being a batting powerhouse. They bowled Punjab Kings out for just over 100 in the first play-off match. Some of their key bowlers could be worth an inclusion. Their top-order batting is also particularly strong.
Shreyas Iyer remains a key Punjab batter who would be well worth having in your Dream11 side too. The pair of Indian bowlers in Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal will be required to perform with the ball. They will be experience you could need in your lineup.
Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli are only two Dream11 fantasy points away from each other. Iyer is in the lead with 1184 points
Virat Kohli has his neck in front with 614 runs. Shreyas Iyer is only 11 behind with 603 runs
Josh Hazlewood leads with 21 wickets this season. Arshdeep Singh has 18 wickets. There is a cluster of bowlers with 15 wickets
Shreyas Iyer is miles ahead with 39 sixes in 16 innings. Prabhsimran Singh is second with 28 sixes by some distance
Romario Shepherd is swinging at a wild strike rate of 353.33. Both Priyansh Arya and Marcus Stoinis are striking at 183.33
A number of bowlers have economy rates in the eights. Australian Josh Hazlewood is best with 8.30
