Two fierce competitors in IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans and Salem Spartans will take aim at each other in what may be a vital match when the dust settles on the top four for the play-offs.
The Tiruppur Tamizhans ended significantly higher on the 2024 table at second place before eventually being knocked out by eventual champions Dindigul Dragons.
The Salem Spartans have generally lingered toward the bottom of the table. They finished in eighth position with only one win. They have given themselves a great platform for a better season in 2025.

In only the first few games per side, neither team has been plagued by injuries or unavailabilities
The pitch will be far from a dry one with several days of light rain prior to matchday. The average first innings total at Salem in 2024 was 161. Two chases of scores above that average score were chased down last year. At this venue in 2024, Salem Spartans lost twice and won once, while IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans lost both of their matches.
In the 2024 TNPL, 24 year old Tushar Raheja struck an innings of 79 runs off 49 balls against Salem. R Kavin performed his best at the start of last season with 116 runs and three catches in his opening two matches.
Radhakrishnan was reasonable in 2024 with 122 runs and a half-century. 2024 was easily the best TNPL year for Pradosh Ranjan Paul. The left-handed batter hit a mighty fine 222 runs, with two half-centuries and a batting average over 50. Hari Nishaanth was playing for Madurai in 2024. He ended last season with a score of 37 against Chepauk. Nidhish Rajagopal knows how to make a start in the TNPL. He started both the 2024 and 2025 seasons with a half-century.
Sunny Sandhu had a stormer of a game against Tiruppur in 2024 when he hit 61 runs against them. Mohammed Mohammed has bolted to six wickets in his first two games of 2025.
Sai Kishore’s brilliance extended to India’s premier T20 domestic league where he took 19 wickets and ended as Gujarat Titans’ second-highest wicket-taker. Left-arm fast-medium bowler Thangarasu Natarajan has been consistent in the league with ten wickets in his past nine league appearances. 39-year-old left-arm spinner Rahil Shah has been productive with four wickets in his last three TNPL innings. M Poiyamozhi enjoyed his outing against Tiruppur in 2024 when he took a three-wicket haul.
Hari Nishaanth could be a strong shout for the most productive player in the next match. The left-handed opener has 798 T20 runs with four half-centuries at state and IPL level.
Mohammed Mohammed was the most expensive buy at this year’s auction. He will look to make every lakh count. The pace bowler has even achieved at state level with a Ranji Trophy hat-trick for the Tamil Nadu side.
We would start thinking about which seamers will do the job in the powerplay if we were you. The build-up of rain over the week leading up to this match will definitely play its part with the newer ball getting sideways movement off the pitch.
All-rounders will be a huge asset in the conditions, particularly the pace-bowling all-rounders.
Batting-wise, the more accomplished batters should settle in quicker to conditions. The batters who can keep the scoreboard moving along in singles and doubles should be crucial to have in your batting lineup.
Tushar Raheja has 474 Dream11 fantasy points. Mohammed Mohammed comes in second to that with 438 points
Tushar Raheja is out by a stretch with 144 runs in two innings. Hari Nishaanth with 89 runs is second to that
Mohammed Mohammed is tops with six wickets in two matches. Esakkimuthu A has four wickets from a singular innings
Tushar Raheja leads by a distance with as many as ten sixes in two innings. Both Sunny Sandhu and R Kavin have four sixes in two matches
J Gowri Sankar is the only 200 strike rate. Tushar Raheja is just behind him with 175.61 and Sunny Sandhu with 157.89 is the other above 150
Three bowlers have been economical at under six runs per over. Sai Kishore with five, J Gowri Shankar with 5.50 and Mohammed Mohammed with 5.88 are all in that category
