Two of the four teams to make the TNPL 2024 play-offs will lock horns in the second match of this year’s tournament. They will want to repeat that feat again and go better if possible.
Chepauk Super Gillies is the most successful team in TNPL history with four titles. They will rely on experienced players like Narayan Jagadeesan and Baba Aparajith to lead the charge.
IDream Tirippur Tamizhans will look to capitalize on the form of Tushar Raheja and the bowling prowess of Thangarasu Natarajan to turn the tide in their favour.

Neither team should be perturbed by any injuries or unavailabilities. They should be fresh and ready to go for their first match of the tournament
Warm and humid will be the expectation for this match. That could affect the conditions towards the nighttime with dew potentially getting involved. There is a minor chance of rain, but that may not be something to worry about during the game. The seamers could have that at their disposal to get movement off the pitch early.
The batters may need to see out a brief tricky period before settling in and making the most of conditions.
Amit Sathvik has a number of 2024 TNPL stats which will make you lick your lips. He hit over 200 runs, with two half-centuries, 22 fours and 11 sixes. Narayan Jagadeesan got the side off to a reasonable start in last year’s fixture when he hit 36 off 26 against the Tamizhans.
Across nine matches, Radhakrishnan scored 122 runs with a top score of 50.
Mohamed Ali took this game last year by storm. He rampaged to three for 29 in four overs against the Super Gillies. Abhishek Tanwar was an asset with bat and ball last season. His batting strike rate over 200 and 12 wickets, including a four-wicket haul, make him an all-rounder in the truest sense. Baba Aparajith was a confident customer with 234 runs with a batting average of just over 33 and strike rate over 130.
Left-arm pacer Thangarasu Natarajan is a renowned wicket-taker in the league. His 12 wickets were brilliant but so is his dot ball percentage of nearly 50 percent. Left-arm spinner Sai Kishore has become more of a permanent feature in the IPL as time has gone on. He has 99 wickets in T20s with best bowling figures of four for six. Lokesh Raj didn’t fail to deliver with a wicket in each of his two bowling innings in TNPL 2024.
In his brief TNPL 2024 stint, Aushik Srinivas grabbed four wickets at a reasonable economy rate of just over seven.
Sai Kishore knows his ways around a trophy. The left-arm spinner was part of the victorious Gujarat Titans side which lifted the 2022 IPL trophy. He has had three years of IPL cricket in total.
Narayan Jagadeesan has created a prolific portfolio of work in domestic T20 cricket. The wicketkeeper-batter has almost scored 1500 runs in T20s while achieving ten half-centuries.
With two teams who are knowledgeable about how to get to the final stages of the tournament, you should have plenty of T20 know-how to choose from across both squads.
There are plenty of established T20 domestic batters with an understanding of how to score runs in the region.
Indian internationals such as Vijay Shankar and Thangarasu Natarajan, despite not playing in the blue of India for a while, could be top picks in your side. Their form may be temporary, but their class should be permanent.
N Sunil Krishna earned the most Dream11 fantasy points at 398 points. Narayan Jagadeesan was the other player in the 300s with 303 points
Apart from Shivam Singh, Tushar Raheja was the only other batter in TNPL 2024 to reach the coveted 300-run mark. He hit 324 runs in the season. Narayan Jagadeesan hit 245 runs
Thangarasu Natarajan was top among these teams in 2024 with 12 wickets. Abhishek Tanwar with ten wickets was not far off either
Tushar Raheja did some damage with the bat by sending 14 balls straight over the boundary last season. Abhishek Tanwar knew his way around a boundary too with 12 sixes for him
Abhishek Tanwar had the best strike rate of the tournament in 2024. His batting strike rate sat at 223.25
Baba Aparajith and Prem Kumar are the two best bowlers in this category. They both had equal economy rates of 6.50 last season. M Mathivannan at 7.09 didn’t have a bad economy either
