This could be a tournament-defining match for both teams in their quest to reach the top two on the table.
Early wins in the tournament will settle the nerves in both camps, whereas a loss in both teams’ second game would leave them needing more to do come the latter part of the group stage.
The Rangpur Riders will be running high after an opening game win in defence of their title.

The teams will need their teams to be at full capacity for a pivotal clash in the tournament. That is the exact scenario on both ends with both teams being injury-free.
The typical nature of the wicket in Guyana is one that comes across as low and slow. The spinners should have a fruitful time of it with the ball. The batters will need to adjust their tempo to requiring strike rotation over pure boundary striking. Rangpur Riders have never lost a GSL match when batting first.
Mahidul Islam Ankon has done a lot of work in only a short period. The 26-year-old has reached nearly 1000 T20 runs in his career. Ben McDermott has been sending a strong signal to the Australian selectors with 229 runs in his last eight innings for the Hobart Hurricanes franchise.
27-year-old Macalister Wright has over 500 T20 runs with five half-centuries in the 20-over format. Soumya Sarkar scored a title-winning 86 runs not out for the Rangpur Riders against Victoria in the 2024 GSL final. Although falling for a duck in the opening game, Yasir Ali should get back to the run-scoring machine that he is. The middle-order batter has eight half-centuries in the BPL.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s in the West Indies includes 264 runs in the CPL with two half-centuries.
Iftikhar Ahmed will be a huge asset as a spin-bowling all-rounder. For the Rangpur Riders, the Pakistani cricketer has 235 runs in his last nine batting innings and four wickets in his last seven bowling innings. Fabian Allen has been a consistent wicket-taker recently with five wickets in his past five T20s.
Jackson Bird has continued to captivate the audience’s attention with the ball. The seamer has seven wickets in his past four games for the Hurricanes. Some of Tabraiz Shamsi’s best T20 bowling performances have come in the Caribbean.
The South African left-arm wrist-spinner has taken 46 wickets with him in the CPL. Khaled Ahmed has continued to deliver on the T20 circuit with him being only two wickets short of 100 wickets. He has best T20 bowling figures of four for 19.
Khaled Ahmed should be primed for a top effort in this match. The fast bowler repaid his franchise’s faith with a 20-wicket season in the BPL.
Soumya Sarkar will walk into this clash with intrigue. The Bangladeshi batter secured the player-of-the-series award in 2024 after producing 188 runs.
The West Indian and Asian players may find a stronger affection to the slower surface in Guyana. Despite neither franchise being based in the West Indies, the local West Indian players in their lineups will show their merits of having them throughout the competition.
The spinners will be key features of your bowling lineup with results showing that the slowness of the wicket has been a major factor. Both sides will field world-class all-rounders who can bring back points from both their batting and bowling efforts.
Mohammad Nabi has worked his way to the top with 367 Dream11 fantasy points. Iftikhar Ahmed follows with 341 points. Only just behind him is Khaled Ahmed with 336 points.
Teammates Macalister Wright and Ben McDermott have 50 and 48 runs respectively. Next in line is Kyle Mayers with 44 runs.
Khaled Ahmed is in charge with four wickets. Spinners Mohammad Nabi and Fabian are lined up behind Ahmed with three wickets each.
Ben McDermott has deposited the ball to all parts with three sixes. Iftikhar Ahmed and Kyle Mayers have two sixes each.
Bhanuka Rajapaksa has raced to a strike rate of 250. Ben McDermott is currently at 200, while Nurul Hasan is currently at 180.
Odean Smith has been cheap with the ball at only 3.50 runs per over. Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi and Fabian Allen have all been going at under six runs per over.
