This could effectively be considered a knockout match. Both teams lost their opening matches and will need to find a way to win soon in order to stay in contention.
The Amazon Warriors naturally have the better understanding of their own conditions. They will need every inch going their way to get over the line. The Stags will put up a fight with the bat but will need to adjust to batting conditions much better in this game.

Both squads go into this clash risk-free of any injuries. The Amazon Warriors and Stags will need all the fresh legs to play their part.
Scattered showers are expected before the match, but that may have little effect on the deck being low and slow. The warm temperatures when the sun comes out may negate the effect of the light rain. The spinners have been effective in the first few games. The batters will need to adjust to the slower surface.
Dane Cleaver has masterfully crafted his way to 237 runs in his past ten T20s for the Central Stags. Johnson Charles also featured in the ILT20 this year. The West Indian wicketkeeper-batter notched up 357 runs with three half-centuries and a strike rate of 166.82.
Sherfane Rutherford played for the Gujarat Titans in the IPL. The left-hander managed 291 runs at a strike rate over 150 in his stint there. Shimron Hetmyer has had an unbelievable tour of the USA with 340 runs at a strike rate over 200. He hit his highest MLC score of 97 not out against MI New York.
Josh Clarkson knows how to get a move on in a short space of time. The batting all-rounder smashed 35 runs off 16 balls against the Northern Blaze in January.
David Wiese has CPL experience from 2024 to draw from. The pace-bowling all-rounder hit 121 runs and took 13 wickets in the competition. Angus Schaw should be looking forward to bowling in spinning conditions. The off-spinner took his best T20 bowling figures of three for 25 in the Super Smash against Wellington.
Blair Tickner has continued to take wickets for his side. His last nine T20s have brought him 15 wickets. Shamar Springer impressed in the previous CPL edition with 12 wickets. The fast bowler landed up with a four-wicket haul in his first game of the tournament. Imran Tahir has been a wicket-taking sensation for the Amazon Warriors.
The spinner and skipper has taken 14 wickets across his past ten matches for the team. Gudakesh Motie will be coming in with experience of the Global Super League in 2024. The left-arm spinner took three wickets in the 2024 edition.
46-year-old Imran Tahir continues to defy age with exceptional bowling efforts everywhere he goes. The leg-spinner took seven wickets in the SA20 while playing for Joburg Super Kings.
Gudakesh Motie is likely to produce his best in the West Indies. The West Indian spinner has 46 CPL wickets with one four-wicket haul.
The Guyanese team has an advantage with several players in their lineup being of West Indian origin. The local players with their knowledge of local conditions could give you the extra edge.
The spin bowlers have thrived in Guyana with the pitch conditions in front of them. The spin-bowling all-rounders should be among the most valuable players you can get. Where the batting is concerned, the batters who can manipulate the ball into the right areas on a slow pitch should give you the greatest return on investment.
Three players, in particular, have been the standouts with Dream11 fantasy points. Sherfane Rutherford has 392 points to the 378 points of Shimron Hetmyer and 376 points of Blair Tickner.
Johnson Charles with his 40 runs is leading the charge. Tom Bruce sits just behind him with 34 runs.
Angus Schaw is in front with three wickets. Imran Tahir, Blair Tickner and Gudakesh Motie all have two wickets.
West Indians Sherfane Rutherford and Johnson Charles have blazed the ball directly over the boundary twice each.
Ajaz Patel’s strike rate of 200 is the best of the lot. Jewel Andrew, Moeen Ali, David Wiese and Gudakesh Motie all have strike rates of 150 or more.
Imran Tahir is clearly the most economical bowler at 5.25 runs per over. He is joined by Ajaz Patel, Angus Schaw and Blair Tickner with economies between six and seven runs per over.
