England Women will face West Indies Women in the second T20I of their three-match series. England Women leads the series one-nil following a commanding eight-wicket victory in the first T20I. Sophia Dunkley starred with an unbeaten 81, while Heather Knight contributed 43 not out, successfully chasing down West Indies' total of 146/7 with 21 balls to spare.
West Indies captain Hayley Matthews delivered a remarkable performance, scoring an unbeaten century off 67 balls in the first match. However, she received limited support from her teammates, with the rest of the batting lineup contributing just 46 runs collectively.
The visitors will need a more cohesive team effort to level the series. England, under new head coach Charlotte Edwards and captain Nat Sciver-Brunt, will aim to secure the series at Hove.

Notable omissions from the England Women squad are Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Filer and Bess Heath. Experienced West Indian duo Chinelle Henry and Deandra Dottin are sidelined through injury.
The County Ground in Hove presents a balanced pitch with opportunities for both batters and bowlers at different stages of the game. The early assistance with the new ball will give the seamers the chance to take early wickets, but conditions under lights mean that the batters will have the ball coming on to the bat nicely. The West Indians’ opening Women’s T20I score of 146 for seven in 20 overs was easily chased down in the 17th over by the hosts.
Amy Jones’ recent showings in white-ball cricket include 80 runs vs Surrey Women, 52 vs Lancashire Women and 41 vs Essex Women all in the ECB Women’s One-Day Cup.
Heather Knight is a veteran of the game and is one of the few players who can boast of a Women’s T20I century in the locker. Sophia Dunkley is well familiar with conditions in England. The hard-hitting batter has over 850 runs in the Women’s Hundred.
Nat Sciver-Brunt is a leader in every sense of the world. The English all-rounder captained her T20I side after a break of almost a year and took her chargers home to victory in match one. Emily Arlott has produced some fine work in the Women’s Hundred with 33 wickets in the tournament before receiving her first national cap.
Experienced Hayley Matthews has over 2700 Women’s T20I runs and over 100 wickets in Women’s T20Is too. Young Zaida James is still finding her feet but gave herself a good platform with one wicket in her previous innings.
Lauren Bell’s experience in white-ball cricket in England should not be undervalued. The pacer has racked up 39 wickets in Women’s T20Is, with 15 of those in England. Linsey Smith’s economy rate is one of her biggest assets. Her economy rate currently sits at 6.25.
38-year-old Afy Fletcher has milestones in the form of two four-wicket hauls and one five-wicket haul in Women’s T20Is. Cherry Ann Fraser has a best of three for 20 in the international arena. She will push to take more wickets in clusters.
Heather Knight is generally an entertaining batter to watch but hasn’t fallen short on output either. In 2025, she has 144 Women’s T20I runs, averaging 72 while striking at an impressive 138.46.
One of the few West Indian ladies in form is Hayley Matthews. She has climbed to 394 runs in her last nine Women’s T20I matches. She has added eight wickets at the same time too.
The English arguably have the more settled batting lineup. Their batters will also be more familiar with home conditions. They could form the core of your batting choices with a few West Indian star batters around them.
There are several handy fast-bowling all-rounders to choose from. They will be particularly valuable in the more seamer-friendly conditions while giving their teams late batting impetus.
The spinners may be partially in the game, but it could be the fast bowlers bearing the bigger fruit in this match.
