SFU vs SOR Match Preview

Finn Allen and Matthew Wade are likely to open the batting for the Unicorns. They weren’t in the best of forms during the series opener, but given their talent, we expect them to bounce back soon. One of the biggest strengths for the Unicorns is its middle order, which consists of big hitters like Aaron Finch, Marcus Stoinis, and Corey Anderson.

All-rounders Shadab Khan and Tajinder Singh add depth to the batting. Anderson was in an especially belligerent mood in the last game, where he smashed 91 runs off just 52 deliveries, and played a vital role in taking his team to a match-winning total.

Coming to the bowling, the Unicorns have a potent seam attack at their disposal, including bowlers like Liam Plunkett, Haris Rauf, and Carmi Le Roux. While they were a bit expensive in the last match, their ability to pick up wickets makes them quite dangerous.

The spin attack will feature all-rounders Chaitanya Bishnoi and Shadab Khan.

Imad Wasim put in an all-round performance to help the Orcas put up a good performance. He bowled a brilliant spell with the ball, giving away just 19 runs in 4 overs and also picking up the important wicket of Mathew Short. He was well supported by Harmeet Singh, who picked up 2 wickets.

The pace attack is quite strong too, thanks to the presence of skipper Wayne Parnell, Andrew Tye, and Cameron Gannon. Coming to the batting, Pakistan batsman Nauman Anwar is striking the ball well and will open the innings with Quinton de Kock, while Shehan Jayasuriya, Heinrich Klaasen, and Shimron Hetmeyer can be destructive in the middle order. Imad Wasim can once again play a pivotal role here.

The Orcas have a well-balanced squad and are capable of putting up a good fight.

Weather Report

The weather is expected to remain warm with temperatures of above 30 degrees Celsius.

Pitch Report

The pitch at the Grand Prairie Stadium is flat and has an even covering of grass on the pitch. The quicker bowlers will try and target the good length to drive the batsmen into a shot and beat them with the movement. The average first-inning score here is around 180, which is a par score.

Notable stats

Carmi Le Roux’s Consistent Bowling

Carmi Le Roux has been a consistent performer with the ball in the T20 format. He has picked up 20 wickets in 17 matches and has an excellent economy rate of just 6.20 runs per over.

Team News

There are no reports of injuries from either side.
