RR vs DC Match Preview

Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal have formed a potentially explosive opening partnership. Jaiswal, in particular, has been in exceptional form and is a strong contender for the orange cap this season. RR also boasts Dhruv Jurel in their lineup, a highly-rated young Indian batsman who has already tasted success at the international level.

The presence of several quality Indian batsmen in the team is a rarity and allows RR to include an overseas bowler as their impact player, if necessary. Shimron Hetmyer further strengthens the batting lineup with his power-hitting abilities.

In terms of bowling, Trent Boult and Nandre Burger provide the initial push with the new ball, followed by R Ashwin, Y Chahal, and Sandeep Sharma. The spinners are of top-notch quality, making RR's bowling attack one of the most well-rounded in the competition.

The positive aspect for DC in the last game was the return of Rishab Pant, who, although not at his best, appeared to be in better physical shape compared to before his injury. Abhisjek Porel's performance towards the end of the match was commendable and provided a boost. It is hoped that this will secure him a spot in the playing eleven for the upcoming game, although with DC, nothing is certain.

Mitch Marsh, David Warner, Shai Hope, and Tristan Stubbs are all solid options as overseas players. While they may not be the top T20 players currently, if they can deliver according to their potential, DC might have a competitive total to defend.

Ishant Sharma's injury in the previous match might lead to his replacement, which would be a significant blow for DC considering he was the standout fast bowler. Kuldeep Yadav's exceptional performance, taking two wickets for just 20 runs in his four overs, showcased his world-class abilities.

Despite not taking any wickets, Axar Patel also put in a good performance.

Weather Report

The weather forecast is excellent and there are no interruptions expected.

Pitch Report

The conditions at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in the previous match were a bit slow and not necessarily the best for batting. RR ended up scoring 193 but that was largely because of the brilliance of Sanju Samson and proved to be well over par.

The average score batting first in the previous ten matches at the venue has been 172 but the average winning score is 180. So teams need to try and get 9 an over at least to feel comfortable defending.

Notable stats

Death Overs Slowdown

Just 48 runs have been scored during the death overs in the previous 10 overs at Jaipur. This is one of the lowest of all IPL venues. It shows the importance of starting strong.

Team News

Ishant Sharma may not be available for selection for this match.

Dream11 Prediction

We think RR is the team to back in this contest. They have a strong batting lineup as well as a bowling attack that is quite a bit superior to what DC has. Being well led and well-settled in their compisition should also help them out.

Top Picks

Yashasvi Jaiswal - The left-handed opener from RR has been in blazing form off late and we expect him to cash in against a struggling DC side.

Kuldeep Yadav - Full of confidence, Kuldeep Yadav is always looking for wickets. He could be very dangerous if the surface offers a bit of spin, like it did in the previous match played here.

Trent Boult - The kiwi fast bowler was a bit subdued in the previous match but he will target the pads of the DC top order and we think he could have a lot of success.
