NOS vs OVI Match Preview

The openers, Tom Banton and Matthew Short have played one good inning each for the Northern Superchargers but they will need to be more consistent going ahead. There are a couple of good batsmen in the middle order, including Adam Hose and Harry Brook and the team will like at least one of them to remain on till the end of the innings.

David Weise showcased his batting capabilities to perfection in the match against Trent as he slammed an unbeaten 54 off just 25 deliveries to help the visitors set a winning target. The seamers, Reece Topley and Wayne Parnell have done an excellent job with the new ball.

Topley has picked up 6 wickets so far while Parnell has picked up 5. The spinners however have struggled to perform as Adil Rashid and Callum Parkinson have picked up just 2 wickets each.

After a sedate start, Jason Roy and Heinrich Klaasen got back to form in style as they slammed individual half-centuries against the Manchester Originals. Roy will open the batting for the Oval Invincibles along with Will Jacks, while Klaasen will feature in the middle order along with Jordan Cox, Sam Billings, and Sam Curran.

With such an experienced line-up, we can expect a good batting performance from the visitors. Coming to the bowling, Gus Atkinson is the leading wicket-taker with 6 wickets and will share the new ball with Spencer Johnson, who picked up 3 wickets in his very first match of the season on Wednesday.

Sunil Narine and Nathan Sowter make up for an excellent spin attack and have picked up 5 wickets each. Sam Curran will fill in as the 5th bowler.

Weather Report

The weather is likely to be clear with pleasant temperatures.

Pitch Report

The pitch at Headingley is a bit difficult to bat early on in the game. The quicker bowlers can expect some movement in the first inning. The spinners too will get some turn if they bowl in the right areas. The average first-inning score on this ground is around 140.

Once the surface settles, the ball comes onto the bat and the batsmen will be able to play their shots.

Notable stats

Spencer Johnson’s Brilliant Bowling

Dream11 Prediction

We are backing the Oval Invincibles to win. They have been clinical in their performance this season and have done well even under pressure. The team has a strong batting line-up with some of the biggest strikers of the ball including Jason Roy and Heinrich Klaasen. That said, we do expect strong resistance from the Superchargers.
