MS vs QG Match Preview

Multan won three matches in a row to start their 2024 PSL campaign on a high, but have since collected their first defeat. They will want to put that behind them quickly and move back to more success. Let's see how their players might fare against the Gladiators.

Reeza Hendricks is a major asset for the Sultans. This is the Proteas batte's first time in the PSL and he has been relishing his role at Multan. Hendricks has collected two half-centuries in Pakistan this month and is in a good position to add to this tally. He is the tournament's top run-scorer overall so far.

Mohammad Ali is proving prolific with the ball for the Sultans. He has already taken 10 wickets in the 2024 PSL. This has happened in just four innings. That's a tremendous effort from Ali, who should all but definitely be among your preferred Dream11 team.

Quetta have not yet lost a match in this year's PSL. But they are going to be hard pressed to keep that record going against a motivated Multan team. Quetta have plenty of good batting resources and their bowling department has solid depth.

Local talent Saud Shakeel and England recruit Jason Roy have been formidable at the top of the Quetta order. Both should be considered when forming your Dream11 team's batting unit. Roy was in great form in the SA20 earlier this year. He is looking really good in Pakistan, too.

Abrar Ahmed has not reached the lofty heights enjoyed by Ali, but the leg-spinner has taken six wickets in three matches for Gladiators in this year's competition. Conditions in Multan could suit the leg-spinner, whose flight through the air and extra bounce can be challenging for the best of batters.

Weather Report

There is no rain forecast in Multan on matchday. The weather will likely be hot and humid, which is characteristic of the region this time of year.

Pitch Report

A first-innings score of 170-plus can be considered competitive at the Multan Cricket Stadium, where it's well worth fielding two specialist slow bowlers.

Notable stats

Reeza Hendricks in top form.

New Multan Sultans recruit Hendricks has the most runs overall in the 2024 Pakistan Super League so far - 174 in four innings.

Team News

Quetta will likely retain West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein and use him with the new ball again.  England batter will probably be at the top of the Sultans order again.

Dream11 Prediction

Multan really should be able to capitalise on their homeground advantage here, especially if their hefty batting resources fire on cue. Bet on the Sultans to beat the Gladiators.

Top Picks

Reeza Hendricks: His fine form has been a big boost to Multan's batting resources.

Abrar Ahmed: The Quetta star is one of the best leg-spinners at the tournament.

Saud Shakeel: For a top local batting option, look no further than the Gladiators kingpin.
