LAKR vs SFU Match Preview
It has been a very ordinary batting effort by the Knight Riders. They lost the match against the MI New York by a whopping 105 runs despite chasing a modest target of 156 in their latest fixture. None of the batsmen except for Unmukt Chand managed to reach double figures as the team was bundled out for a paltry 50 runs.
The Knight Riders will need its international stars, including Martin Guptill and Rilee Rossouw to step up and play some big innings going forward. Jaskaran Malhotra is capable of scoring quick runs at the death but we are yet to see him play to his full potential.
The story continues with the bowling too.
There is a lot of potential in the seam attack with bowlers like Lockie Ferguson, Corne Dry, and Ali Khan. Adam Zampa has bowled well in patches. But one of the biggest concerns will be the form of Sunil Narine, whose poor run continues.
The Unicorns boast of a strong batting line-up and will be banking on the opening pair of Matthew Wade and Finn Allen to give them a brisk start here. The middle order is pretty strong too, thanks to batsmen like Aaron Finch, Shadab Khan, and Corey Anderson.
Anderson was particularly impressive in the opening fixture, where he scored an unbeaten 91, and will once again play an important role here. Led by Liam Plunkett, the Unicorns have a strong pace attack. Plunkett has picked up 2 wickets in both his outings and has been impressive with the new ball.
Carmi Le Roux, Marcus Stoinis, and Haris Rauf have been a bit expensive and will need to bowl a better line and length. Shadab Khan is the only spinner on the team.
Weather Report
The weather will remain clear and warm throughout the day.
Pitch Report
The pitch at the Grand Prairie Stadium is good to bat on during the first half. The average first-inning score here is 170, which is a par score. However, there is some movement for the seamers and they will be able to exploit the green patches on the surface.
Notable stats
Adam Zampa: Underrated T20 Star
Zampa has bowled well in limited-overs cricket and is a difficult bowler to get away with. He has picked up 277 wickets in 238 matches and has an impressive economy rate of 7.33.
