IND vs AUS Match Preview

India is in a good position and although it lost its previous match, we don't think they will be unhappy with their batting performance. Ruturaj Gaikwad headlined with a brilliant century but SKY and Tilak Varma more than did their jobs also. It was refreshing to see that the early loss of wickets did not mean the team was ready to settle for a low score.

The batting lineup is expected to remain the same for this match. We will definitely have Ruturaj Gaikwad, SKY, and Ishan Kishan in the lineup with a tossup between Yashasvi Jaiswal or Tilak Varma.

Among the bowlers, Ravi Bishnoi has been more successful than all of the others so far. He and Axar Patel could find themselves picking up some wickets against a new-look Australian batting lineup. Avesh Khan also continues to pick up wickets even though his bowling does not seem very impressive.

Australia will have to rejig its entire lineup and hope to compete. Players like Tim David, Matt Short, Ben McDermott, and Matthew Wade could be forced to play a leading role. Jason Behrendorff and Nathan Ellis are the two players that we think stand out among the bowlers.

Australia's biggest challenge will be to adapt quickly to conditions in Raipurm a venue that could be the most in favor of the Indian team among those we have seen so far.

Weather Report

There is no rain predicted and the temperatures should be quite comfortable as well.

Pitch Report

The surface is a bit of a mystery. Previous matches at Raipur have aided spin and so that can be expected this time as well. Dew might allow the batters to have an easier time than what has been seen here in the past. We think something around 170-180 could be quite competitive.

Notable stats

Ruturaj Gaikwad: All-format Player in the Making?

After becoming just the 9th Indian batter to score a T20 international century, Ruturaj Gaikwad has staked a claim to be the first-choice opening batter. His acceleration from 21 off 22 balls to 123 off 57 shows the kind of damage he can do once he is set.

Team News

Australia will be forced to make a number of changes to its playing eleven but India may not make any change to its lineup.

Dream11 Prediction

We think India has a great chance of winning this match and the series. It has a strong batting lineup and could feast on the younger crop of Australian players that have not had the exposure needed to the Indian conditions. Bet on India to win.

Top Picks

Ruturaj Gaikwad: We are huge believers in form and that is exactly what Gaikwad has been displaying. He takes his time in the beginning and can accelerate without taking too many risks. A great chance for him to really stamp his authority.

Matthew Short - A bit of a disappointment so far, we think Short has the capability to really do well with both the bat and ball. He is also a useful differentiator to have in the lineup.

SKY - The kind of batting form that SKy has displayed cements his place as the leading batter in the world in this format. No question of not having him in your Dream11 lineup.
