ENGW vs AUSW Match Preview

England has made a couple of changes in its squad from the Test match but has largely retained the cure team. Daniella Gibson is likely to make her international T20 debut in this series. She had traveled with the team to the T20 World Cup earlier this year but couldn’t make it in the playing eleven.

Issy Wong has been rewarded for her excellent performance in the inaugural WPL and makes a comeback in the team. England has surprisingly left out two of its strongest performers from the Test match. Tammy Beaumont, who scored a double-century, and Lauren Filer, who finished the match with 4 wickets, have been overlooked for the T20s.

Other players in the team include Heather Knight, who will once again lead the team, as well as regulars like Nat Sciver-Brunt, Maya Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, and Danielle Wyatt. England has a strong team at its disposal but it will be interesting to see their approach in this match.

Australia W has a pretty strong batting unit at its disposal. Beth Mooney and Alyssa Healy will play an important role at the top of the order and will look to give the team a brisk start, while Ellyse Perry, Ashleigh Gardner, and Grace Harris are likely to play a vital role in the middle order.

The team has a lot of depth in its batting thanks to a plethora of all-rounders. These include Annabel Sutherland, Tahlia McGrath, and Kim Garth. Coming to the bowling, Ashleigh Gardner was in brilliant form at Nottingham, picking up 8 wickets in the second innings and ending the match with 12 wickets.

She will be supported by Jess Jonassen and Alana King, while the seam duties will be performed by Tahlia McGrath, Annabel Sutherland, and Megan Schutt. Australia W have been crowned as the World T20 Champions for the 3rd consecutive time earlier this year and will fancy its chances of continuing its winning run here.

Weather Report

The weather is expected to remain clear with temperatures remaining below 20 degrees.

Pitch Report

The pitch at Birmingham is good to bat on. The surface offers consistent pace and bounce, making it easy for the batters to play their shots. The quicker bowlers will have to be disciplined with their line and length. The spinners will find some turn as the match progresses, making life difficult for the batters.

Anything over 170 will be difficult to chase here.
