Ruturaj Gaikwad is in sublime form for the Super Kings as he has scored 2 half-centuries in his 3 outings and is the second-highest run-getter of the tournament. Devon Conway has had a quiet start but he is not someone to overlook either. His contest with Ashwin is going to be something to watch out for. 

We would be a bit wary of picking Rahane in our team. He had an oustanding match but the conditions in Wankhede suit him. Will be as effective at Chepauk? Especially if it starts to slow down?

Rahane, along with Shivam Dube, and Ambati Rayudu makes up for a solid middle order, while MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja will play the role of a finisher. Moeen Ali should be back for this match while Ben Stokes will continue to miss out. 

Sisanda Magala, who was brilliant with the new ball in South Africa’s recent series against the Netherlands, bowled well on his IPL debut in the last match, and we are expecting to see more of him in the upcoming games. Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner are likely to play an important role with the ball in this game. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler make up one of the best opening pairs in this season of the IPL and the duo has scored 2 half-centuries each. Sanju Samson is a solid performer in the number-3 slot and the team will be banking on him to carry on the innings during the middle overs.

The form of Riyan Parag does remain a cause of concern for the team. We may see Riyan Parag being replaced by Devdutt Padikkal for this match. Shimron Hetmeyer is at his explosive best toward the end of an inning, and he has found a good partner in the form of debutant Dhruv Jurel.

Yuzvendra Chahal has been excellent with the ball and is the leading wicket-taker for the team. In tandem with Ravichandran Ashwin, Chahal can wreak havoc in the middle overs. Trent Boult will once again get the new ball duties along with Sandeep Sharma, while Jason Holder is likely to be the fifth bowler.
