Having suffered 3 consecutive losses, the Rajasthan Royals return to home turf in a bid to turn things around. The team hasn’t played as badly as their position on the points table suggests. However, they have failed to seize the key moments and have paid the price by losing games.
The Lucknow Super Giants on the other hand have been powered by some brilliant batting from the top order. The batting has been their biggest strength but the middle order has sometimes misfired. Also, the team doesn’t have the best record against RR and will hope to do better here.

Sanju Samson suffered a muscle strain while batting in the previous match and had to retire hurt. While the details are awaited, we expect him to be fit in time for this match. There are reports that Mayank Yadav has rejoined the LSG squad but whether he is fit enough to play has not yet been released.
The Sawai Mansingh stadium has hosted some high-scoring matches in the last season and we expect another good batting surface for this match. The track is likely to be hard and a bit on the dry side with some cracks. The seamers will have to be disciplined with their line and length as any loose deliveries will be punished. The spinners will come into action during the latter half of the innings.
The weather usually remains dry and warm and dew is unlikely to be a factor here.
Nicholas Pooran is our top pick here. We will also include Sanju Samson as he has been a consistent performer for RR.
Mitchell Marsh and Yashasvi Jaiswal have played some excellent knocks throughout the season and made it to our side. We are also including Shimron Hetmeyer for his hard-hitting skills.
Both teams have some solid all-rounders. Aiden Markram has been great as an opener, while Nitish Rana has played well during the middle overs. Wanindu Hasaranga is one of the best spinners in the T20 format and makes it to our team.
The spinners could play an important role and we are therefore including Ravi Bishnoi. Shardul Thakur is among the leading wicket-takers of the season and we are pairing him with Jofra Archer.
Selecting Nicholas Pooran for this post is a no-brainer as he has been unstoppable with the bat. He could very well play another match-winning knock here.
There are a couple of solid options here but we are going with Mitchell Marsh. He has been brilliant against the new ball and can score briskly during the Powerplay.
As we are expecting a good batting surface, we have tried to pick up some quality batsmen for our team and there is no dearth of options. The dry conditions in Jaipur mean that spinners may play an important role here and that’s why we have included a couple of slow bowlers as well.
The last few matches in the league have shown that the bowlers can win matches for you in crunch situations and that’s why we have tried to select a balanced team.
Aiden Markram has scored 478 points in the last 5 matches at an average of 95 points per game.
Nicholas Pooran (357), Mitchell Marsh (295), Yashasvi Jaiswal (233)
Shardul Thakur (11), Digvesh Rathi (9), Ravi Bishnoi (8)
Nicholas Pooran (31), Mitchell Marsh (17), Yashasvi Jaiswal (13)
Nicholas Pooran (208.77), Abdul Samad (202.50), Nitish Rana (182.60)
Riyan Parag (6.83), Digvesh Rathi (7.42), Aiden Markram (8.00)
