Punjab Kings suffered their first loss of the tournament when they played Rajasthan Royals in their previous game. They have started off well despite that. Their opening two games were both victories.
Chennai Super Kings won their opening IPL 2025 game before getting themselves into a rut of three consecutive losses. Points away from home could be the momentum they need.
Both teams will target this match as one to regain their winning form.

Neither side has injury concerns to worry about
The pacers have been more successful with 72 percent of the wickets at the ground coming through pace. The average first innings score is 173. The heat will be the biggest weather factor of the day. Humidity and rain will be the least of the players' concerns.
Prabhsimran Singh could be the better choice for this spot. Singh already has a half-century under the belt. He is competing against the king of white-ball knowledge in MS Dhoni. Singh’s advantage is that he will open compared to Dhoni, who only comes in down the order.
Captain of Punjab Shreyas Iyer will be worth investing in. He has already hit back-to-back half centuries to start his campaign. Vijay Shankar has made a notable contribution for the team when he scored 69 against Delhi. He may occasionally be a seam-bowling option.
The all-rounder spots will be up to your preference of youth or experience or a combination of the two. The spin-bowling duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will be two game-changing players to include in your lineup. Jadeja has made a couple of batting starts with scores of 32 and 25, while chipping in with a couple of wickets. Ashwin has yet to reach his potential in the 2025 IPL yet.
Marco Jansen will be a younger, but no less exciting choice. The left-arm pace-bowling all-rounder took a wicket in the first game of his season.
Two left-arm bowlers could be the best choices in your lineup. Both Noor Ahmad and Arshdeep Singh have taken an average of two wickets or more per game this IPL. Wrist-spinner Ahmad took three wickets against Bangalore and pacer Singh took three wickets against Lucknow.
Shreyas Iyer has been front and centre of the wins that Punjab have picked up this season. Another captain’s innings could be on the cards. The Indian international has over 6000 runs across all domestic T20s.
Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad could be a hot pick to be a major wicket-taking threat. He took four wickets against Mumbai Indians in his team’s opening day victory. Those bowling figures of four for 18 are his current best bowling figures in the IPL.
With pacers being overwhelmingly successful compared to spinners, you should pick some exciting new ball bowlers in your lineup. Teams may be looking to score 180-plus in the first innings, but the ground has been good for chasing too. Your batting options could bring you great value in helpful batting conditions.
Bowler Noor Ahmad has 344 fantasy points to his name. Captain and batter Shreyas Iyer follows him with 329 fantasy points
Shreyas Iyer leads the way with 159 runs
Noor Ahmad has blasted off in his first four 2025 IPL games with ten wickets already
Shreyas Iyer is out in front by quite a distance with 13 sixes
Lockie Ferguson has a batting strike rate of 400, but more realistically, Shreyas Iyer has done damage for longer with a strike rate of 206
Khaleel Ahmed has proven to be the cheapest in terms of economy rate. He is going at 7.5 runs per over
