We are past the half-way stage in the group stages of the ongoing IPL and gradually, we are getting a clear picture regarding which teams will likely qualify for the playoffs. The Delhi Capitals and the Lucknow Super Giants have emerged as two of the strongest teams and find themselves in the top 4. As both teams look to strengthen their case for qualifying, we are expecting a close encounter.
The Delhi have defeated LSG earlier this season but their form has seen a slight duo over the last week. On the other hand, Lucknow is coming into this contest on the back of a thrilling victory over RR and will feel pretty confident about building up the winning momentum.

There are no injury concerns ahead of this match
The Ekana Stadium is among the more balanced venues in this tournament and we can expect an even contest between the bat and the ball. The pitch is flat and hard and has some green patches interspersed between dry areas. The seamers will get some movement with the new ball while the spinners who vary their pace can expect some spin.
That said, once the batsmen get their eye in, they can play the big shots. The weather will be clear and there is no chance of rain but we may see some dew during the second half.
We are picking up KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran from the wicket-keepers’ list as they are among the best performers for their team. The duo has plenty of experience playing in the shortest format and can score plenty of runs.
Mitchell Marsh is our top pick as he has played consistently well. Other selections include Tristan Stubbs, Ayush Badoni, and Abdul Samad.
There aren’t many options when it comes to all-rounders. Aiden Markram and Axar Patel ar the two top performing players in this list and make it to our team.
The bowlers can play an important role in this match and the ground has a reputation for helping seamers. We are therefore selecting Mitchell Starc and Shardul Thakur for our team. Kuldeep Yadav has bowled well throughout the season and also makes the cut.
While Nicholas Pooran hasn’t batted well in the last couple of matches, he remains one of the best batsmen in the league. He has an excellent record against Delhi and has scored 4 half-centuries in his last 7 innings against them. We are therefore selecting him as our captain.
There are plenty of options for this post but we are going with KL Rahul. He has played for LSG in the past and knows the conditions at the Ekana Stadium well. He has an average of close to 4_ runs in his 12 innings here and has scored 4 half-centuries on this ground.
The Ekana Stadium has hosted some thrilling encounters and we are expecting another one in this match. As it is one of the more balanced venues in the league, we have tried to strike a balance between bowlers and batsmen. The all-rounders, as usual, will play a key role in this match. We have also picked up two of the best seamers as the ball might swing a bit.
Aiden Markram has 568 points from the last 5 matches at an average of 113 points per match.
Nicholas Pooran (368), Mitchell Marsh (299), Aiden Markram (274)
Kuldeep Yadav (12), Shardul Thakur (12), Mitchell Starc (10)
Nicholas Pooran (31), Mitchell Marsh (17), KL Rahul (13)
Abdul Samad (222), Vipraj Nigam (207.69), Nicholas Pooran (205.58)
Kuldeep Yadav (6.25), Digvesh Rathi (7.43), Aiden Markram (8.28)
