Batters

Venkatesh Iyer is an absolute beast in the IPL and a must in your side. Virat Kohli will be very highly owned also (as he almost always is) but you can take a risk by benching him. Ajinkya Rahane, the Knight Riders skipper, has scores of 37, 98 and 84 in his most recent T20s. Rajat Patidar and Devdutt Padikkal of RCB will also be batters to watch. Patidar hit back-to-back T20 half-centuries. Padikkal also has a T20 half-century in his second-last T20 innings.

Rinku Singh hardly got any deliveries to face in the previous edition and the same can be true for Tim David. Perhaps hold off on these two to start the competition.

Sunil Narine will enjoy his home track. He also has form with three wickets in his last three T20 matches. Krunal Pandya took two wickets against Karnataka and hit 30 runs against Mumbai recently. Liam Livingstone is also someone to consider with his big-hitting abilities and more than handy bowling.

Bowlers

Varun Chakravarthy has an outstanding nine wickets in his last three T20 innings, including a five-wicket haul against England. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled brilliantly against Jharkhand with bowling figures of three for six. Both could be among the top bowlers of the match.
