Zimbabwe is touring Bangladesh for a Test match series after a gap of more than 5 years. The last time they did so was back in 2020 when it lost the only Test match played in Mirpur. Their performance in Test cricket hasn’t been the best since then as Zimbabwe has managed to win only one game some that huge defeat.
On the other hand, while Bangladesh is facing problems of its own, they are a considerable force, especially playing at home, and will look to gather some momentum after a dismal performance in the Champions Trophy.

No injuries have been reported in the lead up to this match
The Sylhet stadium has hosted only 3 Test matches to date and all of them were won while batting first. The pitch is balanced and offers a good surface to bat on during the first 3 days. That said, the seamers will get some swing as well as seam movement, especially when the ball is new. The spinners will have to work hard to pick up wickets.
As the conditions are likely to be overcast and we are also likely to see some rain, we would recommend picking up a seam-heavy bowling unit.
Jaker Ali is the obvious pick here as he is a better player compared to Mayavo on the international stage.
Both teams have a lot of experienced batsmen to choose from. Our top choices include Najmul Hossain Shanto, Craig Ervine, and Mushfiqur Rahim
We have tried to pick up quite a few all-rounders for our team as not only do they add depth to the batting but also provide variety to the bowling attack. We have included Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Sean Williams as they are two of the best all-rounders that this series has to offer.
The last match played in Sylhet saw the seamers get plenty of help. We are therefore picking up Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava , and Nahid Rana for our team.
We are picking up Mehidy Hasan Miraz as the captain of our team. He has been one of the best all-rounders for Bangladesh in recent months, across formats. His ability to score runs in the middle order and his crafty spin bowling will help him earn plenty of points.
We are selecting another all-rounder, Sean Williams, as our vice-captain. He has scored plenty of runs in his recent Test outings and can pick up a few wickets as well.
The Sylhet stadium hasn’t hosted many Test matches and it remains to be seen how it behaves. We have therefore tried to select a balanced team that has some good spinners as well as some quality seamers. We have also picked up some experienced batsmen who we reckon can score runs on any surface.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz has 624 points from the last 5 matches at an average of 124 points per game.
Craig Ervine (390), Sean Williams (329), Mehidy Hasan Miraz (292)
Blessing Muzarabani (36), Taijul Islam (35), Nahid Rana (23)
