The Dindigul Dragons’ ambitions for the play-offs won’t change this year, especially with their current log position. The experienced side would tighten the grip on their play-off position with a win against a Trichy team which has been very inconsistent this year.
The sheer number of proven match-winners in the Dindigul team will make beating them a near-impossible task. Trichy Grand Cholas will need to muster something incredible to overcome them.

There is no evidence of any injuries across both squads. The teams will be able to go into an important match injury-free.
The average first innings total at the ground lies at over 150. Teams will need more than that to challenge any side batting second. Dindigul’s previous home match at the ground was chasing a target of 159 against Chepauk in Eliminator one of last year’s play-offs. They only managed that off the penultimate ball of the match. More than half of the wickets at the venue have been taken by spin.
Suresh Kumar has been in the upper echelon of batters in the league with over 1000 runs and eight half-centuries. Baba Indrajith brings plenty of TNPL talent to the wicket. The right-handed batter averages over 30 with eight half-centuries in a 61-match TNPL career.
Shivam Singh has been up there with the best players this tournament. His stats in 2025 of 247 runs at a batting average of 61.75 and strike rate of 151.53 would be difficult to argue against. S Sujay has been a reasonable batting asset for Trichy with over 500 runs in the league. Vimal Khumar has 463 runs and a high score of 62 for Dindigul Dragons.
Ravichandran Ashwin’s dual ability to change the face of a game is almost unprecedented in this league. The all-rounder has 715 runs and 38 wickets with milestones including five half-centuries and four three-wicket hauls. R Rajkumar has worked his way up the gears in 2025 after going to two half-centuries in his first three innings for 2025. Sanjay Yadav’s exploits at the TNPL level have earned him domestic stints for Tamil Nadu. He has 546 runs and 21 wickets in T20s.
K Easwaran will be knocking on the door with the ball. He won’t need to look too far for success with him taking six wickets against Dindigul in 2024. Varun Chakravarthy is a mystery spinner to watch out for on a surface where the stats will be to his liking. Chakravarthy has seven wickets at an economy rate of 6.96 this season. Saravana Kumar used to play for Dindigul. He took three wickets against Trichy in 2023.
Sandeep Warrier’s most effective period of the game is likely to be with the new ball under cloudy skies. The right-arm pacer took 12 wickets at an economy rate of 6.90 in 2024.
Ravichandran Ashwin has continued to be a force to be reckoned with. The veteran Dindigul all-rounder has a batting average of 37, batting strike rate of 165.18 and eight wickets this season. Things have been looking up for the 38-year-old as most of his runs and wickets have come from his more recent games.
R Rajkumar’s run-scoring form has been exceptional. He has 287 runs in his past ten matches with a strike rate over 200.
With the cloudy overhead conditions, the seamers should be primed for early wickets with the new ball. The spin bowlers should take full effect after more traffic on the pitch throughout the game. Ravichandran Ashwin is one such world-class spinner who can exploit turning conditions.
The Dindigul batters should have the better feel for home conditions. A batter like Shivam Singh has starred on numerous different conditions but may be brutal in favourable batting conditions in Dindigul.
Ravichandran Ashwin is on top of the tree with 630 Dream11 fantasy points. R Rajkumar comes in behind the Indian international with 509 points.
Shivam Singh flaunts his skills with 247 runs. Only R Rajkumar and Ravichandran Ashwin with 190 runs each, come close.
Athisayaraj Davidson with nine wickets and Ravichandran Ashwin with eight wickets are in the top two positions. The rest of the bowlers have seven wickets or less.
There have been a few players to score in boundary sixes. R Rajkumar has the most with 16 sixes. Shivam Singh on 14 sixes and Ravichandran Ashwin on ten sixes follow that.
R Rajkumar has been destructive at over 211.11. Hunny Saini, Varun Chakravarthy and Ravichandran Ashwin have all gone at over 160.
Of the regular bowlers, K Easwaran and Varun Chakravarthy have been near the top of the list with economies of 6.56 and 6.96.
