Tamim Iqbal was the first player to reach 1,000 runs in T20 cricket at Chittagong and he is also one of the few players to have hit a T20 century at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

Chittagong's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium is one of the main grounds used for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), with Chittagong Kings playing their matches there.
The stadium has also been known by other names such as the Chittagong Divisional Stadium and Bir Shrestha Shahid Ruhul Amin Stadium since it was established 20 years ago.
The ground is located about half an hour outside of Chittagong, with notable matches held here including games in the 2004 and 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cups.
It can hold as many as 22,000 cricket fans, although there have been many international matches where the stadium is not always at full capacity.
The ground hosted a memorable Test between Bangladesh and West Indies in February 2021. Kyle Mayers made a superb 210 not out on his Test debut to steer the tourists to one of the largest chases in the sport's history.
Bangladesh star Sohag Gazi also made history there when he became the first player to take a hat-trick and hit a Test century in the same game.
Tamim Iqbal was the first player to reach 1,000 runs in T20 cricket at Chittagong and he is also one of the few players to have hit a T20 century at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
As of early 2025, Taskin Ahmed has been the most successful T20 bowler at the stadium, having taken 39 wickets at an average of just over 20.
As with a lot of pitches in Asia, this stadium has sometimes been critical for not offering enough help to bowlers.
Back in 2018, the pitch was rated "below average" by the ICC after a match between Bangladesh and West Indies ended in a high-scoring draw.
With 1,533 runs scored and only 24 wickets taken, the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium pitch report was certainly in favour of the batters on that occasion and that is often the case here.
Scoring is often good in T20 matches on this ground, with the average first innings score at the venue a touch over 170 during 2024.
Batting first is seen as an advantage here, with 53.7% of T20s on the ground won by the team setting a target.
Chasing sides only win 46.3% of games, which teams reading the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium pitch report should take note of.
Medium pace bowlers are the most expensive in terms of economy rate, but quicks can get something out of the pitch as they have some of the best averages and economy rates here.
