Known as the "home of Sri Lankan cricket", the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium - which used to be known as the Khettarama Cricket Stadium - in Colombo is one of the country's most-used cricket grounds for Tests, ODIs, T20s and more.
Named after Ranasinghe Premadasa, who was Sri Lanka's prime minister and president, the ground opened in 1986 and has hosted more than 100 One Day International matches.
This is where the highest score in Test cricket history was recorded, with a massive 952 scored by Sri Lanka against India in 1997.
The great Sanath Jayasuriya scored 340 in one of the finest Test innings of the era, while his team-mates Roshan Mahanama and Aravinda de Silva scored 225 and 126 respectively.
Upgrade work took place here in preparation for the 2011 Cricket World Cup, while it was also a key venue used for 2012 ICC World Twenty20 matches, including the final of the competition.
The 2023 Asia Cup was also largely held at the Colombo cricket ground, when the co-hosts Sri Lanka were beaten by India in the final at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
