With a reported capacity of 132,000, the Narendra Modi Stadium - which used to be known as the Sardar Patel Stadium - is the biggest in the world. Its record crowd is just over 100,000, but it has yet to be completely filled for a cricket contest.

The Narendra Modi Stadium used to be named after Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, who was India's first deputy prime minister and a vital figure in the battle for Indian independence. Events such as the opening ceremony of the 2022 National Games of India have been held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, which was also used as the venue for both the 2022 and 2023 IPL finals. The Gujarat Titans team, which plays in the Indian Premier League, uses the stadium.

Coldplay, the British rock band, are set to play a pair of dates at the stadium in 2025 as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour, with large crowds expected to attend these concerts. 

The Narendra Modi Stadium was a key venue for the 2023 Cricket World Cup, with India having suffered a painful loss in the final on this ground when Australia won the game by six wickets. Along with the main stadium, the complex is also home to grounds known as "Narendra Modi Stadium A Ground" and "Narendra Modi Stadium B Ground", which host Ranji Trophy games.
