WOR vs NOT Match Prediction - Jun 22, 2023

Things are getting close to the finals, as Worcestershire is in the fifth spot in the North Group. Those four straight losses didn’t exactly help things, but a win against Leicestershire was huge news. Another victory over Lancashire could move them up to fourth.

Nottinghamshire is looking good in the third spot, but four teams are tied with 12 points, meaning that every game is crucial right now. Four straight wins were only slightly ruined by a loss to Northamptonshire, but the team is still quality.

Worcestershire vs. Nottinghamshire will take place at the County Ground, Worcester, on 22nd June.

WOR vs NOT Team Previews

Worcestershire

If Worcestershire wants to have a shot at the knockout stage, they will need to give it all they can. Their hopes were seriously damaged by those four consecutive defeats, but the recent victory against Leicestershire is an encouraging progression.

Adam Hose (266) has been the team's leading scorer, although his recent performances have been a little shaky. Hose might be doing more for his squad to assist them out with scores of only 11, 36, and 5.

D'Oliveira (264), who has scored 148 runs in his previous three games, is the batsman Worcestershire must continue to depend on and he has to keep playing more efficiently than ever before. In his previous five games, Ali has had three outings of scores with less than five runs, with the exception of one 48* effort.

Usama Mir, who is becoming an incredibly useful spinner, has been the team's strongest bowler lately, having two straight outstanding games with figures of 3/22 and 4/22. He has only bowled in five matches, but with a total of 12/122, he is already showing promise.

D'Oliveira is excellent with the ball as well (13/188) and isn't just great with the bat, although Brown has had some recent difficulties. Brown may have taken 16 wickets, but they have cost him 314 runs, and during his last three games, he has taken only two wickets.

Nottinghamshire

Given that Nottinghamshire boasts three of the best 20 run-scorers in the T20 Blast, it is easy to understand why they have recently been so dominating. The focus has been gratefully shared by Munro (295), Hales (293), and Clarke (306), who have all been batting exceedingly well and continue to work great together.

It's wonderful to see a squad that doesn't depend on just one batsman to win. Although none of the three batters is yet to reach a century and the trio can appear inconsistent at times, you realise that if one is having a terrible game, the other two can make up for things. Munro, though, is the most powerful of the bunch and currently has the third-most sixes made in the league with 20.

Fast bowler Afridi is leading the squad in wickets taken with 14, but he is also proving to be quite costly, having given up an unbelievable 350 runs. His performance of 3/39 is his greatest, and we want to see if he's capable of more. Jake Ball has taken part in only four innings but already has 9/147, and we believe he'll have an important role in Nottinghamshire's mission to get into the finals.

WOR vs NOT Toss Prediction

From the records, the team batting second has won 32/55 times, which makes sense to bowl first. It won’t be surprising if we see scores of 230 made here, especially with Nottinghamshire’s batters.

Pitch and Conditions

Bowlers aren’t known to get a heap of bounce or swing at the County Ground pitch, which means batters will be able to predict the ball’s path much easier. Big hitters like Munro will love the slightly smaller boundaries and rapid outfield. The pitch is usually said to be better for batting even later, which means bowling first.

WOR vs NOT Betting Tips

Worcestershire certainly has the better odds with Satbet, but even though they had the win last time, Nottinghamshire has an overall better track record. The batting from Munro, Hales, and Clarke is too good to ignore, and if Afridi and Ball have standout bowling efforts, then Worcestershire will be on the back foot.

Nottinghamshire has been great all season and has tonnes of talent and experience on the team, and this will show itself against Worcestershire.

Bet on Nottinghamshire to win.

Brett D'Oliveira is a batter batsman right now and has the better odds over Hose, so it’s a good chance to bet. He’s scored two half centuries lately, and even though the last match with 10 runs was low, he’s very consistent and will bounce back.

    Nottinghamshire Top Batsman: Matthew Montgomery

The odds for Clarke, Hales, and Munro are quite low, but we like the idea of giving Montgomery a chance. He hasn't had to do much with those three batters above him taking all the spotlight, but he's a talented batter nonetheless. His odds are decent and he's had scores around 30 this season, so it's a good opportunity to bet.
