West Indies Women

Unlike their male counterparts, the West Indies W have played some excellent cricket in the last couple of weeks. After winning the ODI series 2-0, they have already won the T20 series too, and will now be hoping to complete the clean sweep.

Skipper Hayley Matthews has led her team from the front, contributing with the bat as well as the ball. She is the top run-scorer as well as the leading wicket-taker for the hosts in the T20 series and will play an important role here. She will be supported by Rashada Williams as an opening partner.

The likes of Shabika Gajnabi, Shemaine Campbelle, Zaida James, and Chinelle Henry add stability to the middle order. In addition to Hayley Matthews, the spin attack will feature Afy Fletcher as well as Ashmini Munisar, while the pace attack consists of Shamilia Connell, Chinelle Henry, and CA Fraser.

The West Indies has a perfect balance of players on the team and are well-placed to once again win here.

Hayley Matthews, Djenaba Joseph, Aaliyah Alleyne, Chinelle Henry, Shemaine Campbelle, Shabika Gajnabi, Zaida James, Afy Fletcher, Cherry Ann Fraser, Ashmini Munisar, Shamilia Connell.

Ireland Women

Despite having some wonderful individual players, Ireland has been unable to produce positive results and will be pretty disappointed with its performance so far. Nevertheless, they have a last chance of redeeming themselves and finish this tour on a high.

A lot will depend on the performance of Amy Hunter and Gaby Lewis at the top of the order. Gaby Lewis was in particularly good form in the ODIs but has failed to replicate the same form here. Skipper Laura Delany as well as all-rounders Orla Prendergast and Arlene Kelly make up the middle order.

One of the biggest weaknesses for Ireland has been that it is lacking in depth of batting. In case the top 3 or 4 batsmen are dismissed early, the tail is exposed pretty quickly. Coming to the bowling, Ava Canning and Louise Little are the two main seamers on the team and will be helped by Prendergast and Kelly.

Aimee Maguire and Cara Murray will be seen in the spin department.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at the Daren Sammy Stadium is not the easiest to bat on. The average first-inning score here is around 115, which is a par score. The quicker bowlers will get some assistance early in the match and the batters will have to settle down before playing the big shots.

There is a forecast for rain here, which can lead to delays or interruptions.

WIW vs IREW Betting Tips

Looking at the way that both the teams have played on this tour, it is clear that West Indies W have a clear advantage. They are undefeated by Ireland W in the T20s, and looking at their current form, we expect them to maintain a clean slate.

Bet on the West Indies W to win.

  1. Betway

    Laura Delany Total Runs

    Over 12.5 (1.83)

Laura Delany is the leading run-scorer for Ireland in the two T20s played so far. She has scored over 12.5 runs in both those matches and we are backing her to do so again here.

  1. 1xBet

    Highest opening partnership

    West Indies W (1.667)

Hayley Matthews has been in excellent form in the ODIs as well as both the T20s played so far. Her opening partner, Rashada Williams is a good player too and we are backing them to put up a bigger opening partnership here.

  1. 10CRIC

Any player to score a half-century

    No (2.1)

The Daren Sammy has hosted 4 matches over the last couple of weeks and isn’t the easiest to bat on. Also, with the forecast of rain, we might have a shortened match. We, therefore, think that the batters will find it difficult to score a half-century here.
