The Fire have been sizzling lately in the Hundred with 5 points, not to mention the long-awaited return of Bairstow in the batting ranks. Likewise, Root has come back to the Rockets to help them gain more than 3 points.

WEF vs TRR Team Previews

Welsh Fire

The Welsh Fire have done pretty well so far, with two wins, one loss, and one tie. The team badly needs some batting help, which will certainly come when Bairstow returns to the lineup.

Wells has done a good job with 95 runs, but we’re most interested in Clarke, as he started out with two ducks but has since gone on to score 85 runs. Eskinazi is reliable with 78 runs, but we’re disappointed with Abell with only 34 runs. Hopefully, Bairstow will inject some life into this team if Abell continues to struggle.

Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has certainly been the most consistent with a wicket in every match, which brings his total to a great 6/88. Haris Rauf has also been solid with 5/89, although his figures can fluctuate wildly and is a little harder to predict.

Welsh Fire Playing 11

RE Van Der Merwe, David Willey, Glenn Phillips, Haris Rauf, Joe Clarke, Jonny Bairstow, Jake Ball, Luke Wells, Shaheen Afridi, Stephen Eskinazi, Thomas Abell.

Trent Rockets

The Rockets had a good start with a win, but haven’t been the same since, as the next games were one abandoned and a recent loss to the Superchargers.

The first game back from Root was not exactly a hit, as he was dismissed for only four runs, but we’re ready to give him a chance to prove himself. Hain has been huge for the team with 83 runs, but the rest of the squad has been iffy at best. There are several big names on the team that haven’t really added much so far, including Hales (38), Malan (17), Munro (25), and Kohler-Cadmore (19). Let’s see what happens for the rest of the season.

The Rockets have been quite impressive with the ball, however, as they are doing a good job of limiting runs and pushing out a strong bowling attack. Wood has been fantastic with 4/49 and Gregory with 3/26. Sams is a bit less amazing with 3/64, but they are all reliable bowlers.

Trent Rockets Playing 11

Alex Hales, John Turner, Colin Munro, Dawid Malan, Daniel Sams, Ish Sodhi, Joe Root, Luke Wood, Lewis Gregory, Samit Patel, Tom Kohler Cadmore.

WEF vs TRR Toss Prediction

It's difficult to decide whether to bat or bowl first in short-over games played here. Out of 63 T20 matches, 31 have been won by batting first and 30 by batting second. Teams may still opt to bowl first if they win the toss in order to better assess the pitch.

Pitch and Conditions

The Sophia Gardens surface is known for having a lot of bounce and swing, which fast bowlers love. Because the outfield isn't as fast as other venues and the new ball will have a lot of movement, it might be a low-scoring game of about 150-160.

WEF vs TRR Betting Tips

While checking the Parimatch odds, we’re still interested in the Fire to win the match. We haven’t been so impressed with the batting lineup of the Rockets, even if Root has come back. Until we see them dominate a match, we’re not inclined to trust them just yet.

The Fire have a solid batting lineup and it’s really going to help having Bairstow again in the team, but Clarke and Wells can’t slow down their batting average and must continue to be aggressive. The Welsh Fire batters will need to watch the overs from Wood and Gregory, but otherwise, they have a great chance at victory.

Bet on the Welsh Fire to win.

Eskinazi already has 116 runs this season and has scored 30 or more three times, so we think it's a safe bet that he'll make over 17.5. Eskinazi is one of the most experienced short-over batters, so he can handle it.

Trent Rockets Top Batter: Sam Hain

Hain is one of the Rockets' highest scorers so far with 83 runs, so we really like his chances to be the best again. His odds are fantastic and much more exciting than other players on the team, who appear to be struggling right now.
