The UAE had a good run in the T20 World Cup Qualifiers held earlier this year as they topped the Group B table. However, they were knocked out by Nepal during the semifinals. The team will now look to bounce back as it returns to home turf.

Muhammad Waseem is likely to open the batting for UAE in this match. He is the all-time leading run-scorer for his team in the shortest format and will look to give the team a strong start. He is likely to be joined by Khalid Shah.

Vriitya Aravind has emerged as a strong performer in the middle order and the hosts will expect a big inning from him. Other batsmen lower down the order include Alishan Sharafu, Basil Hameed, and Asif Khan. Coming to the bowling, the hosts have a strong pace attack to depend on.

Zahoor Khan, Junaid Siddiqui, and Ali Naseer can be quite effective with the new ball and will look to make early inroads into the opposition's batting. The spin attack is likely to be made up of Aayan Afzal Khan and Nilansh Keswani. 

Afghanistan

Afghanistan was pretty impressive in the recent ODI World Cup in India. The team will now look to continue the good momentum and look to end the year on a high.

Skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi is likely to lead a relatively young squad with some of the key players missing. Riaz Hassan and Mohammad Ishaq are likely to open the batting in the absence of Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

Both haven’t played a T20I to date and will look to make a statement on their debut. The middle order holds the key for the visitors. Azmatullah Omarzai, Rahmat Shah, and Hashmatullah Shahidi were all in good touch during the World Cup and much will depend on their performance.

Bahir Shah was quite impressive during the warm-up games and can strike the ball well in the death overs. Fareed Ahmad and Yamin Ahmadzai are likely to start the proceedings with the new ball. As Rashid Khan is suffering from a back injury, Zia Ur Rahman is likely the spin department alongside Sharafuddin Ashraf and Qais Ahmad.
