Trent Rockets Women

The Trent Rockets made a winning start to their campaign but lost to the Manchester Originals in the very next match in a closely fought-encounter. They will now hope to get back to winning ways here.

Grace Scrivens and Bryony Smith will open the batting for the Trent Rockets in this match. They have got a decent start in both the matches so far but the team will expect at least one of them to play a big knock. The Rockets’ biggest strength lies in its middle-order and the quality of all-rounders they possess.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is the leading run-scorer for the team with 92 runs and has also picked up 2 wickets. She will be helped by Ashleigh Gardener and Heather Graham.

The latter is the leading wicket-taker with 5 wickets and will helm the pace attack alongside Alana King and Sciver-Brunt, while Ashleigh Gardner and Katie Gordon will feature in the spin department. 

Birmingham Phoenix Women

Birmingham Phoenix hasn’t had the best start to their campaign. They have lost both of their matches so far and are languishing at the bottom of the points table with the worst NRR among all teams.

Birmingham has some of the best international talent at its disposal but lacks quality when it comes to domestic players. Suzie Bates can be a devastating batter at the top of the order and Birmingham will bank on her to score briskly during the PowerPlay.

Ellyse Perry was in excellent form during the last match as she scored a brisk half-century and was well supported by Sophie Devine. However, the other batters in the middle order like Seren Smale and Amy Jones were unable to build up on that platform.

Also, there aren’t many all-rounders in the Phoenix team and they lack depth in batting. Katie Levitt and Emily Arlott have picked up 4 wickets each, but the team’s key bowlers, Issy Wong and Charis Pavely are wicketless so far.
