Despite battling gale-force winds, they managed to secure a thrilling victory with 26 balls to spare, all thanks to some outstanding performances from their players.

Bouchier and Adams proved to be the stars of the Vipers' batting lineup, both making significant contributions. Bouchier posted an impressive 71 runs, while Adams wasn't far behind with a well-played 59. The two formed a crucial partnership of 95 runs for the second wicket, ensuring the Vipers stayed ahead of the required run rate throughout the innings. This victory marked the Vipers' third win in nine outings, elevating them to the fifth position in the table. 

Earlier in the game, Storm had set a formidable total of 230 for 5, with Emma Corney shining with a career-best 69 runs. Fran Wilson and Niamh Holland also played crucial roles, scoring 49 and 44 runs, respectively, to lift their team's total.

However, it was Adams who turned out to be the ultimate all-rounder of the match, not only excelling with the bat but also impressing with the ball. She claimed 2 wickets for 50 runs, while Linsey Smith, another Vipers spinner, chipped in with 2 wickets for 36 runs. Their timely wickets helped restrict Storm's scoring at key moments.

Bowling first was a strategic move for the Vipers, given the looming threat of rain. They executed their chase well, with Bouchier providing a super-charged start by hitting a massive six into the wind. Adams, leading from the front, out-scored her partner and kept the momentum going with some classy shots.

Vipers looked in trouble once Storm dismissing Bouchier, who had set a solid foundation for the Vipers. However, Adams and Emily Windsor ensured the team stayed on course for victory. Although Windsor departed after making a valuable contribution, Freya Kemp's composed innings of 47 runs from 36 balls sealed the deal for the Vipers.

Ultimately, the Vipers emerged victorious, handling the challenges posed by the weather and their opponents with determination and skill. They would need another performance of grit and determination as they look to rise up the ladder. If they can continue to play to their potential here in this match as well, Vipers would be well in business. 

Northern Diamonds Women

Similar to the Vipers, Northern Diamonds Women too are just managing to stay in the middle-part of the points table. They are fourth on the ladder, just a place above Vipers, with 19 points to their name. However, they have a poor net run-rate of -0.249, which they would be desperate to improve alongside adding points to their tally. 

They are coming off a loss from their previous match and will want to get back to the winning ways. They have not had any of their matches washed away yet and having won just three matches from a total of nine, their performance can be said to have been subpar. The defending champions have not played like one and will be looking to get things moving as soon as possible. 

In their previous match, which too was a rain-affected fixture that witnessed showers throughout the day, the Diamonds managed to complete the game with just two balls remaining, but failed to get the result go their way. 

Batting first, the Diamonds were in a strong position at 223 for 4 from 34 overs when rain interrupted play at 3.20pm. After the delay, it was the Sparks turn to chase in what was going to be an exciting match. Captain Hollie Armitage led the charge for the Diamonds, scoring a fine 66 off 56 balls, and Bess Heath provided valuable support with an unbeaten 49 off 31 balls. Their partnership of 66 runs for the fourth wicket set the stage for a competitive finish. The Diamonds' innings lost pace as they lost wickets, and the rain further impacted their scoring opportunities.

Despite some late drama with Levick taking key wickets, the Sparks secured their win, making it their fourth consecutive victory. In contrast, the Diamonds suffered their third straight defeat, affecting their title defense and knocking them out of the top three qualifying spots.

Diamonds got off to the best possible start in the season but they have been plundered in their last few matches. They go into this match with three defeats behind them, bouncing from which is not going to be easy. They will need to be at their best to bounce back to the winning ways and towards the top of the table. They are certainly capable of doing so and it is certainly going to be an exciting match.
