Batting first, the entire South East Stars team was bowled out for a score of 148 runs. The Blaze chased the revised target of 52 runs from 10 overs in 8.4 overs for the loss of just 2 wickets to register a victory for their team. The bizarre day for South East Stars ended with the Blaze ending a 3-match losing streak to beat Stars and secure a position in the finals for Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

The South East Stars were bowled out for a small total of 148 runs from 43.5 overs. This already small target was reduced to a paltry 52 runs from 10 overs for The Blaze thanks to the rain. The South East Stars were off to a disastrous start in the competition with the first wicket going down without a run on the board. The vows for South East Stars continued as they got further into trouble and were 7 for 77 at one stage from 19.5 overs. But some spirited lower-order batting by the SES players took the score to 148 runs.

Four bowlers from Southern Vipers succeeded in picking up 2 wickets each. Kirstie Gordon picked up 2 wickets for 14 runs from her 10 overs while Lucy Higham, Marie Kelly, and Kathryn Bryce picking up 2 wickets apiece. Other bowlers such as Grace Ballinger and Josie Groves picked up a wicket apiece in support. Although South East Stars picked up a couple of wickets early in the game, the target was too easy to achieve due to rain. The Blaze skipper Sarah Bryce powered her team to the target with a thumping 34 from 26 balls with 3 fours and 1 six.
