Sussex has had a pretty disappointing season in the T20 Blast, with just a 3-6 record and a very unlikely chance to reach the finals. As of now, they’re in the 8th spot in the South Group table, but at least they’re better than Middlesex without a single win!
Kent had a terrible start to the season and had five straight losses, but somehow, they picked themselves up from the dirt and reeled off three wins in a row. One of those wins was a hard-fought battle against Hampshire!

SUS vs KENT Team Previews
Sussex
Sussex has looked somewhat better in recent games, with two wins out of their last three matches, but that 3-6 record isn’t going to save them right now.
There have been a couple of good batting performances from Khan (59) and Carter (64), but the bulk of the batting has been thanks to Bopara’s 220 runs (high score of 88*). Bopara’s single run against Surrey is quite unusual, but sandwiched between that were great scores of 38 and 30, so we’re not too worried. There’s a bit of help from Burgess (182) and Clark (174), but we hoped that Alsop would provide more than 162 runs.
Currie’s 3/27 in the win over Hampshire was quite a shock, but it’s just what the team needs, especially in his first innings this season. However, the bowling is still suffering from a lack of options, as Mills (15/271) is really the only bowler to provide some consistency. Crocombe (7), Bopara (6) and Khan (6) are the next-best bowlers.

Kent
Kent is looking good right now with three consecutive victories, but they still need to leapfrog Glamorgan or Hampshire for the fourth spot in the South Group, which is easier said than done.
Bell-Drummond (369 runs), Denly (259), and Muyeye (216) continue to be the best batters for Kent, and they alone can swing a game in the team’s favour. Bell-Drummond, especially, has just been on a mission lately to score as many runs as possible, with 89, 66, and 56* in his last three games. Unsurprisingly, Kent wins these games where Bell-Drummond is on fire. Denly’s 73* and Muyeye’s 38 prove that they provide help when needed.
Although Hogan (15/303) and Stewart (14/246) are always reliable for at least two wickets per game, it helps when pacer Richardson is getting two wickets per game as well. It just takes less pressure from the top two bowlers and we’re impressed by Richardson lately, as he was a liability. But 9/261 looks better than his stats used to be!

SUS vs KENT Toss Prediction
Teams batting second have won 26/55 times, but the recent trend is certainly appearing to be bowling first. There’s just a bit more movement for bowlers to work with, and batting second will work out well.

Pitch and Conditions
The County Ground pitch is quite balanced, but bowlers with the new ball in the first innings will get a lot of bounce and movement. The sea breeze can help the swing, too. Batting second is a favoured option from history.

The 10Cric odds are fairly similar in this matchup, but we’ll go with Kent, simply because we believe they’ll be more motivated to move up the ladder than Sussex. With Bell-Drummond just batting like a genius and Hogan bowling incredibly well, Kent looks like a stronger team than Sussex.
Apart from Mills, we don’t trust Sussex’s bowling and there doesn’t seem to be a batter who can really take over the game.

How can you bet against Bell-Drummond right now? His last three games have included 89, 66, and 56*, and he's going to be in the zone to help Kent make a push toward the top four spots. He's a T20 pro right now and has 369 total runs, which makes us trust him in this game to score over 22.5.
This venue seems favoured towards bowlers, particularly at the start, which makes us wonder if any team will really be able to hit so many sixes. There will likely be at least 6-7. The teams' combined in the last game made only 13 sixes, so choose the under here.
