Gloucestershire made an excellent start to their innings, with Miles Hammond and Cameron Bancroft putting together 51 runs for the opening wicket in 5.2 overs. Bancroft was the top batter for Gloucestershire, scoring 43 runs from 35 balls and four fours. But after the openers were dismissed, a procession started, and despite some valuable contributions from the lower middle order, the innings never accelerated at the end. David Payne had other ideas, though. While opening the bowling attack, he picked up four wickets and was well supported by Oliver Price and Josh Shaw, who picked up three and two wickets, respectively.
