The Seattle Orcas have by far been the most impressive franchise in the MLC. With just 1 loss in 5 group-stage matches, the Orcas topped the table and breezed through to the Finals by defeating Texas Super Kings in Qualifier 1.
They must now cross the final threshold to achieve ultimate glory.
The Orcas are likely to start their tested opening pair of Nauman Anwar and Quinton de Kock. While Anwar has been consistent throughout the season, de Kock scored a brilliant 88 in the last match and seems to have peaked in form just in time for the big match.
Heinrich Klaasen will be the most important player for the Orcas in the middle order and will be supported by Shehan Jayasuriya and Imad Wasim. The latter has done a good job with the ball, picking up 9 wickets in 6 matches, and will feature in the spin attack alongside Harmeet Singh.
However, the team’s biggest strength lies in its pace attack. Wayne Parnell, Andrew Tye, and Cameron Gannon have picked up 30 wickets between them and will ask tough questions of the New York batting line-up.

The team’s biggest strength is its star-studded batting line-up. Nicholas Pooran is brilliant in the middle order and the top run-getter of the tournament with 251 runs. He has the support of other T20 stars including Kieron Pollard, Dewald Brevis, and Tim David, all of whom are capable of scoring runs at a brisk pace.
Shayan Jahangir has done a good job in the opening slot and will start the innings alongside Monank Patel. Coming to the bowling, Trent Boult has by far been the best bowler for New York, picking up 19 wickets, and is the highest wicket-taker of the tournament.
However, he has received little support at the other end and Pollard and Ehsan Adil haven’t been able to put the pressure on the batsmen. The spin attack, led by Rashid Khan and Noshtush Kenjige, hasn’t been that effective too.
